Review of chapter "South Station - Track #9" from MrRigger
No, I'm thinking you should leave Faith's accent as is. Phonetic accents can be good if you're doing it for every accent, but if you're only going to do it for one person, especially a person who will likely get a lot of lines, I would avoid doing any phonetic accent writing unless you're using it to point something out, such as the "pahk tha cah" example.
Comments from author:
Well, as I pointed out to someone else, some of the slang only works when done non-rhotically and so I feel kinda awkward trying to write it out in "proper" English. But you're probably right. :)

1. Keep the idea of the rhotic, but mention it rather than try and spell it out all the time. If people forget that she has an accent, that's their issue.

2. Both, different sisters. It seems to me the sisters are still individuals and capable of being attracted to different people for different reasons. They just might "share," what they gain/learn/experience. If it ends up a party of seven because it turns out that sharing is caring, well, that works for me. :)

Finally, as per usual, enjoying the bits you're sharing with us. Thank you. :)

Wonder if Tara should get two then, just to show up Faith... ;)

Tara should leave a mark because... you expect Faith to. :)

You could always have Faith slip back into the accent when she's stressed. It's not really hard to read either way.
Comments from author:
The only reason I'm pondering a fully non-rhotic Faith is because some of Boston's slang requires it to be written properly.

That and it's hilarious.

*snickers* For some reason I pick Tara, just because I can see Faith complaining about her getting more action than her. *shrugs* Either way is good though. As for the accent, the way you have it is fine.
Comments from author:
I've just been sorta faltering on the accent front because there are some bits of slang that you can't use without writing in full-on accent because in Bostonian, they manage to make words rhyme that should never sound at all similar.

Gawkablawka: a traffic jam caused by idiots slowing down to stare at something on the side of the road, be it cops pulling someone over, a wreck, or human billboards.

I think we need to see how Tara ended up with Faith and Emma. And maybe, JUST MAYBE, we can see Emma taking Tara shopping. I smell a all white outfit for the White Witch of this household! White Bustier anyone?
Comments from author:
Not many places are open in the middle of the night on the day before Christmas. Also, Tara's sixteen or so here. It'd be kinda weird to do that to her.

Well now that we see Faith is ~generally~ focused on just the pair she nipped begins the question of why those two, and how will she maintain the ability to tell them apart. And of course what could make a group of teenage telepaths blush just by thinking about it. They're of the age I would have expected, as is commented on, to have already seen imaginings of just about everything.
Comments from author:
Well, her "damsels" are obviously the easiest two to flirt with because she already has an in with them: she helped them get their stolen purses back. Use them to secure a foothold and then work her way outward from there. ;)

My favorite Slayer always have been Faith. Faith's more feisty than Buffy, Faith's more sexy than Buffy. Buffy's like Diet Coke to Faith's Coke Cola, and Buffy was a necrophiliac and Faith wasn't.
Comments from author:
Yeah. Faith might be a little... overly friendly... but at least she's not a necrophiliac.

I'm enjoying the living hell out of this and the title gets the Hockey Night in Canada theme in my head. The original one... the one they let rights for lapse... damn CBC idiots... okay so technically not the original one but still.
Comments from author:
Was the idea. We watch the CBC broadcast on NHL Network when it's in-season, and so I was like... Hockey Night in Canada. Hockey Night in Boston. Faith kicking ass. Hockey Knight in Boston. BOOYAH!

Yay Tara! Excellent.
Thank you.
Comments from author:
Well, it's something that bothered me about Faith. She knew details about Buffy when they met. How did she not know about the Scoobies or, since I assume she logically would of, why didn't she have Scoobies? She's not exactly the type to go "Yes, Missus Dormer, I'll follow all your rules without asking questions no matter what".

I see someone didn't realize that Hurricane Faith was residing in Boston, just waiting to run wild over anyone in her path. I get the feeling Emma is going to spend a little while wondering just what in God's name she's gotten herself into. Excellent work, as always (and I'm saving my Blue Belle 2012 reviews for when the story gets past the point of the original version, but I do like the tweaked version so far). Oh, and a not-quite-as-repressed Tara making her entrance soon? I can live with that :).
Comments from author:
Tara will arrive in Part 3 of this, "South Station, Track 10A".

Oh please, Rachel it's so much hotter than Jean. Especially when she was wearing tight red leather with the metal studs. Her 'hound' outfit. Back in Excalibur I thought she was wicked hot. Yes, I am from Mass.
Comments from author:
Well, Rachel's obviously not a Hound in this but I just thought it'd be fun to show Tara with a secret not-so-pure side to her. Here's to you, Missus Robinson...

Review of chapter "ZEN Japanese Grill & Sushi Bar" from Meneldur
This was fun. It was great to see Faith verbally and mentally sparring with the Cuckoos, teasing and hinting and having fun.
So, Emma met Buffy while in Sunnydale. Can't wait to see how that went. And Faith is a Slayer already, and it seems she has some magic powers. At least, I assume it's magic, since she says she's not a mutant and has Tara with her, so they could study together.
The quintuplets thoughts on Faith were quite intriguing, especially Sophie and Esme.
The introduction of Tara was great. I find it hilarious she wanted Jean, and of course, nice reference to her like for redheads. I hope we'll see her soon, and I wonder who she'll end up with. She seems to be a bit more open in this story, though with Faith as friend, that's not that much of a surprise. I wonder how they met.
The last lines were brilliant. I can't wait for more.
Comments from author:
Yeah, obviously Faith's upbringing was much the same but this is a universe where she's still in that escapism, "okay I'm the Slayer and will probably die young but I've got good eats, good clothes, and where I'm staying isn't about to be condemned, so fuck it" phase of life. That would end in canon when Diana dies, but who knows when (or if) that'll occur here.

Magic in both Buffy and Marvel shares a commonality in that you can either be born into it or study until you learn it. And so while Faith would likely never surpass Tara, that doesn't mean she can't master a few handy tricks through careful study and practice. Like lighting her hand on fire to fight vampires with.

Tara's origin for this universe will be explored in "South Station, Track 10A". And you're not wrong about Faith's proximity rubbing off on Tara.

Review of chapter "ZEN Japanese Grill & Sushi Bar" from Ignotus
Moments like these, which are connected to larger narratives, but separate, always intrigue me. The fact this one features a Faith who is actually from Boston instead of one that's only said to be from Boston make this a winner. I love seeing well done references in stories to places I've been around.

Plus, flirty Faith and quintuplets. That's gold right there. Or would that be diamond?
Comments from author:
My mother went to college in Boston and we visit regularly. As I mentioned to someone else (or possibly you earlier), I actually wrote the first chapter's outline while in North Station and took a series of 60 images that chronicles their departure from the TD Garden, down through North Station, through where the photo op and mugging would take place, to where Faith meets them, and then out onto Haverhill Street.
