Review:
Buffy with a grandparent is a wonderful time. More moments like this are what make life worth living for a Slayer. She really needs to get even with the twins.
Comments from author:
Don't worry about her getting even with the twins, soon enough the student shall surpass her would-be masters.

Review of chapter "Riding Lessons" from (Current Donor)vidicon
Review:
Manipulative older sisters... Though if anyone can breach the barriers between the human and Eldar afterlives, it would be Dawn/Tindomiel.

I liked the way Galadriel welcomed Buffy. Very nice.

Thanks for writing, Vid

Thank you.
She may be manipulative, but like all good big sisters, Arwen's also quite protective...

Review of chapter "Riding Lessons" from AllenPitt
Review:
Dawn/Estel makes a lot more sense than Arwen/Estel. Talk about cougar town.
Digression: Yes, Xander hated and hates Angel. But that's not the main reason for his lie. If Buffy had hung back in the fight waiting for Willow's spell to kick in, the world would have ended. She had to give it 100%. So he didn't tell her the news that would have given her reason to hold back. He had other reasons along with it (hated Angel etc) but I don't think that was 'it'. I recall an interview where Joss stated this, in fact. /end digression.
Arwen has finally figured Tindomiel out and is now able to manipulate her easily. Not surprising given the age difference. Though Arwen isn't able to see how Dawn/Estel will eventually get along. Oops!
I mean, why not wear pants on the journey then break out the skirts for meeting family? etc.
At least Dawn is good at picking up languages...
Comments from author:
I'm of your view on Xander's lie. Been trying to write something about the twins talking to Buffy about it, but it's not ready to post yet.

Dawn will probably ride in pants under normal circumstances, but Arwen's right- if she's going to wear dresses and skirts, she ought to be prepared to ride or fight in them should she need to, because you don't always get advance notice of a situation. (Women used to ride in skirts regularly, so clearly once you learn how to do it properly, it's not a big deal.)

Review of chapter "Riding Lessons" from BarbarossaRotbart
Review:
It seems that eventually it will be Aragorn/Dawn and not Aragorn/Arwen...
Comments from author:
I've actually not made up my mind yet, but Estel is definitely intrigued by Elrond's youngest daughter.

Review of chapter "Riding Lessons" from Cutiepie
Review:
It's been so annoying to not have my computer to respond to all the wonderful chapters you've posted lately, but I have it back now and so I can reply again. Now if I could only remember what all I wanted to say about the earlier chapters! =]

I had to laugh with this latest; although I have never ridden a horse while wearing a skirt, I have done a lot of other things (including riding a bike and going bowling) and many people would be quite surprised what one CAN comfortably do in a skirt, especially if it is somewhat full and long enough for modesty. =D Great chapter!
Comments from author:
Thanks!
(I'm always a bit puzzled by people who think skirts mean you can't comfortably do things. If they were so uncomfortable/awkward, bifurcated clothes would have been more consistently preferred throughout history. Instead, both sexes wear some version of skirts at many times/places, including some rather manly types like the Romans and the Scots.)

Review of chapter "The Choice of the Peredhil" from bradsan
Review:
I agree with Allenpitt only one exception. Xander's lie he did it because he hated Angel and was jealous. He wanted to get rid of him. How would he feel if he had to kill Willow or Anya. He proved he couldn't do it when Willow became dark and Anya became a demon again.

and Willow I think Galadriel will recognize the danger she will bring if they don't do something about her magic if she can do it in this in middle earth.

I also wonder how Galadriel will react when she will meet those two. They didn't always treated Buffy how friends should treat each other. They tried already to run her live and I don't think Galadriel will agree with that. She will try to do something about it without the others notice it.

great update

Review of chapter "The Choice of the Peredhil" from AllenPitt
Review:
I think Dawn is the one. But then again she's the Key, it's energy, not sure she can 'die' as people do. She might revert to being a ball of green glowing energy on 'death'. Her & Estel makes a lot more sense to me than Arwen -thousands of years older than Estel, knew him when he was a baby etc. That's almost like Cordelia/Connor...
And meanwhile, I have to wonder how each of B's companions will do when they meet Galadriel. Tested / secrets exposed, gifts given etc. Xander's lie? (Though I think he did it for good reasons). Willow and magic-addiction? I dunno. Not sure it's sunk in yet for Buffy that they're all going to die 'real soon' compared to her life span.

Review of chapter "The Choice of the Peredhil" from (Current Donor)Sulien
Review:
Funny thing: the first time I heard the Primitive tell Buffy "Death is your gift", the Gift of Illuvatar was the first thing that popped into my mind. I was wondering while reading this what Buffy's choice might be and I figured that her drowning didn't quite count as Xander revived her without her making a conscious choice one way or another. I'm interested to see where you decide to take this eventually in this regard; after all, Illuvatar may possibly disagree with Galadriel's interpretation.

Thank you for the update! I'm really enjoying this tale. :) And I'm really looking forward to the meeting between the Scoobies and Galadriel and Celeborn!

Review:
You know, I had first thought it would be Arwen, as in the books, but then I remembered Dawn/Tindomiel and considering Aragorn is still a kid in this story, it could just as easily be her that Aragorn notices.
