I think John's gotten a bit of a bad rap. He's as damaged and layered as his sons, dealing with this life the best way he can. Even though he wasn't the best father, he still, unquestionably, loved his boys.

Oh, John. There are exactly three chapters written in his POV, and they have all been difficult to write. I'm glad his flavor came across. I think the next one will be more telling, but I'll let my readers be the judge. As for the third...

Lovely. not all passion needs to deliver smut. This works very well in the context of the story you've been crafting. If it needs to be inside the bedroom, you'll know if you listen to the story... as you have been... I'm impressed.

I tried extending the scene, but it didn't feel authentic. Which is why I hated the whole Parker plotline in the first place. Joss brushed it off, saying people do stupid things in college, but I'm with SMG on this one - it was a little OOC.

You're right, I'm new and sorta suck at summaries. But I'm hoping the quality will eventually get others to spread the word. The story is only halfway through. Hopefully by the time I start posting the sequel, more readers will be interested.

I'm really looking forward to this. I think having Buffy and co encounter younger Sam and Dean and encounter them earlier in the Buffy universe while people were less jaded has a different flavor than adult Sam and Dean and post chosen Buffy etc... and I find I like it. There's an innocence all round that is missing from most SPN/BtVS fic and I find it refreshing.

I also enjoy the way you draw the characters thoughts and in particular, Dean's affinity for Xander - who may be his first 'non hunter family' friend - someone he can let his hair down with... it's very interesting to look inside him before he closed up and became dark, hard Dean.

Nicely done. Very insightful and intelligent. More soon, I hope.

Wow! Thanks so much for the compliments, especially the one about being different and refreshing. One of the hardest things about being a writer, at least in my opinion, is figuring out how to tell a familiar story in a new way. So I'm totally flattered that you feel that way about this one.

It's actually been a real joy writing this. People fascinate me, and I love to psychoanalyze the hell out of them, whether they're real or fictional. I've tried to interpret the characters in a way that reflects the canon, and I'm glad it's coming across as believable.

This is a lot of fun! I like that Sam has a crush, and that Dean's trying to figure out why he likes the scoobies, and that John just shrugged and decided to run with it!

I'm glad you've been enjoying it. I've actually written a bit of original fiction (nothing published yet) and am part of a critique group, but I needed a break and fanfic seemed like a fun way to play around. And it has been! It's also a great way to practice all the writing mechanics without worrying about world and character building. So it's a win-win for me.

I'm enjoying this; it's a bit different to the other 'Dean meets Buffy at high school/college' stories I've read. Which is good. I'm intrigued to see where you go with this.

I was basically rewatching Buffy and thought this episode would be a perfect time for her to meet some demon-hunting pool hustlers and started writing. I actually hadn't read much BtVS/SPN fic before that. I've read a bit more now, but I admit that my characterizations are quite different.

I'm glad you're intrigued. Hopefully, I won't disappoint.

And, yes, Xander also deserves guy friends who aren't zombies or demons or otherwise unnatural.

OMG! I loved the silent conversation between Sam and Dean, that was beyond precious. And especially in front of John, I really liked that (even better because I know what they're talking about!). Haha.
