Review of chapter "Chapter 12" from DarthTenebrus
A bit anticlimactic, if you ask me. I felt nothing of the impending doom that was hinted at in previous chapters. So becausr of Messiah, Mesektet will burn the Earth? Won't Messiah still do that, or was that not its purpose after all?

From what I understand, the central theme in the works of Lovecraft was the terrible fear of the unknowable. To know the unknowable is the aphrodisiac of all scientific philosophers, so what would cause these heretofore thirsting for the ultinate knowledge to run screaming into the shelter of ignorance? What was it about Cthulhu and the others, and Messiah by extension, that caused instant and total insanity in humans seemingly at random?

Perhaps some of these elements should be revisited in later chapters.

"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents."
Comments from author:
Ah, there are elements to be revealed. Things are not exactly as they appear.
I mean Cordelia pop's out of the coma she was put into by one of the Powers That Be and suddenly everything she say's is gospel ?

Miles to go.
See Ya.

Hold up...

Your female merc....

How in all the hell dimensions did Wolfram and Hart open a portal to the Dune verse?

Caught that too; a ghola, no less...but from whom? Jessica Atreides? Gaius Helen Mohiam? Or Serena Butler?...
Comments from author:
I was wondering when someone would catch that. : )
Technically, she was vat grown. The Engineers aren't the only ones creating artificial life forms. So the question is, how did the Bene Gesserit get a hold of WRH technology?
But hey, it may be just a throwaway line. My subconscious is a weird place. I mean it's not like there's a connection between my series "Buffy AVP" and "The Slayers of Dune."

See ya.

Thank you for the note DarthTenebrus, I forgot about the terminator movie =).
Wow, Ilirya started the party and then left? Wow, she's kinda rude xD.
I hope Andorra and Buffy kick her butt :P.
Cool chapter, see ya!!!.

note to McSpender: the phased plasma rifles are from the Terminator verse, not Star Trek. You must have been thinking "compression phaser rifles" a la Star Trek Voyager...

Watch "The Terminator" once again, Arnold's character asks the purveyor of the gun shop in pre-Judgement Day LA for a phased plasma rifle in the 40-watt range
Comments from author:
Yep, that's where I got it from.

So, the Messiah is one nasty costumer, it does certainly seems :S. Good look with the phasers, they tend to be physics violating tools xD.
And poor saad lonely Ilirya, she just wanna go home :P.
Cool chapter, see ya!!.
Comments from author:
Well at least Messiah is not a Cannibal Cop. : )

See ya.

Review of chapter "chapter 9" from DarthTenebrus
Ah, the plot thickens...this "Croatoan" is an enigma. Give us more clues to this thing, build the suspense a bit more slowly, thattyat usually works to raise the thrill level. You may also wish to inject a bit of comic relief at just the right moment be fore it all hits the fan; that's what'll get the greatest impact, cuz when it does hit, it needs to hit like a brick wall at 100mph...

now go have fun!
Comments from author:
The fan is right around the corner. Angel and firends are about to go on a bug hunt for one strange and evil moppet. Fun will be had by all.

Is it me or its kinda cold now :S?.
Wow, nice chapter dude, very Lovecraftian, congratulations!!!.
So, why do I think the Scoobies and the Fang Gang are gonna need to learn Norwegian??. I mean, Andorra is alien enough to resist the mind hack... wait a minute, would that mean that Norwegians are aliens???. OH MY GOTH!!!.
See ya!!!.
Comments from author:
Now we know why Norwegians love anchovies so much. It all traces back to Cthulhu.
Wait a minute, Dawn loves anchovies too! She may be an Old One in disguise! : )

People, we are through the looking glass here.

Next chapter soon.

Review of chapter "chapter 8" from DarthTenebrus
looking real good there, you almost captured the prose of the nineteenth century American authors, Lovecraft of particular note. The terror builds up with every word and does not let up. Good ending to the chapter, keep it up!

PS-- If you've read any Poe or Melville, you are then familiar with the extra long sentences with many phrases; they seem to belie the simplicity, through great attention to detail, of the passage being written, such long and we connected sentences being evident of a soundly educated mind. Poe and, in his own great way, Lovecraft, the two being celebrated as the masters of the horror genre as they were, engage all the senses in the conveyance of such degrees of terror as have only been mimicked by their contemporaries in the nineteenth century. Indeed in our current modern age the style is sommewhat lost save in the books of literary pupils, for it has found little use in a society that holds value in saying much with but few words.
Comments from author:
Thanks! We haven't even gotten to the fun part yet. More to come.

PS: You nailed it spot on there. The hardest part was keeping the long flowery sentences.

Review of chapter "chapter 7" from DarthTenebrus
WHOA!!!! There's an eye opener for ya...are you channeling Lovecraft himself or what?!

Who in the unholy hell is this Messiah that it can cause instant, sudden and total madness seemingly at random?

What's next, dreams of sunken cities and strange terrifying rituals in equally terrifuying language?

"That which is not dead doth eternal lie, and in stranger eons even death may die" -- The Call of Cthulhu, H. P. Lovecraft

PS: What did you mean by "the elder signs" that one should make? Do they imply some sort of protection? Because clearly you know something more of the Mythos than I...

Perhaps Giles in his research into "Messiah" will come across them and impart to Buffy and the Scoobies, the Fang Gang and other lesser known allies their meaning and the intent behind them. Shall we see?

PPS -- In a response to one of my reviews, you suggested that I should "make the elder signs" and sleep well.

Note for reference: Not. a. telepath. Just lucky guessing...
Comments from author:
Your telepathy is impressive. : )

Up next, a quick trip to the cold waste of Kadath.
Keep an eye out for those albino Penguins.

PS: When did I mention "the elder signs". I'm an old man, so it's hard keeping up with this stuff. FYI, in the story "Hive", Hive read the Elder language on the evil manhole cover in the school basement. Is that what you are referring to?

PS: Sorry to take so long to reply. I finally remembered. The Elder Sign is an icon in the Cthulhu Mythos, first mentioned in H. P. Lovecraft's The Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath, written in 1926.

And the madness inducing mind hacks of the oldies ones are starting to make noise =S.
At least Buffy knows about it, but Daamn, it's gonna be hell to fight it.
By the way, this means that Ol' Squid face Cthulhu is gonna make a cameo??.
Cool chapter, see ya!!!.
Comments from author:
Cthulhu! Everybody loves that guy. : )
If old squishy head shows up I'll just sic Liam on him.

I'm going to explain over the next couple of chapters why Messiah is bad for any long term plans (like living).

Next Chapter Soon.

Review of chapter "Chapter 5" from DarthTenebrus
Awesome chap, friend. That gigantic creature in Andorra's vision, was that supposed to be Illyria, ......or something else?

And she fraggin' handled her business, didn't she? I can already see a climax, where she'll meet Buffy and they will handle their business together...I mean, someone's gotta avenge LA, right?

Keep on truckin' with this thing, dude!
Comments from author:
Yep, that was Illyria in her true form.
You read my mind. Buffy and Andorra are going to team up later on. Then the fun will start.
