Review of chapter "PART ONE: Rediscovering Hermione, Chapter 5" from VillageOrchid
Review:
Wow you really give Hermione a hard time. Deciding to have a baby but being too traumatized by the war to want to have a family.

Same bar - a coincident, but not an impossible one, considering they are of the same generation, mindset and schooling. The kissing part was a bit unexpected, but again allowable. Just not sure if it is serious or a one-off.

Review:
Interesting. Can't tell if you are just expanding the other characters she's interacting with or if Percy may turn out to be her love-match. She really needs the reformed and jaded anti-hero type, though.

I like your characterization, and I honestly can't predict who Hermione might end up with. I'd make it another crossover character like becoming a companion of Doctor Who or one of the TW characters myself, or even Xander Harris if you say they're in the same universe; but curious how you play this out.

Review of chapter "PART TWO: The Wedding, Chapter 3" from burmafrdnow
Review:
Hermione never really felt like the Wizarding world was her home; not surprising when you think about it.

When was she ever really made welcome there?

She was a muggle who happened to be a Witch.

And very few ever let her forget it.

Add PSTD to that after fighting since a child in a war and it is no surprise that she would head back to a world a lot more familiar and less threatening then the Wizarding world.

And then there was the biggest reason of all: Harry was dead.

add on: I would argue the somewhat respected part; to me it looked a lot more like resentment then respect
Comments from author:
Lots of good points there. However, just to play Devil's Advocate, remember that she didn't feel welcome in the Muggle world, either, and at least in the Wizarding world she was powerful and somewhat respected.

I do agree that she probably had PTSD, as did a lot of her friends.

Thanks for your continued readership and reviews.

Review:
I'm surprised Romilda isn't there too. She does know that Hermione will be at the Burrow tonight, right?
Comments from author:
I don't think she knows. I'm sure she knows all of Ron's friends will be there. My guess is that she's with her own friends and family, and then Saturday night, which will be in Part Two, there's the "official" rehearsal dinner where both of them are present.

Thanks for reading, and thanks for reviewing.

Review:
Would love to see the flashback of that scene you mentioned with Padma in the hospital....
Comments from author:
I honestly didn't think about it very much. That particular section, when I was writing this, was originally intended as a bridge between the "distant" past and the "current" past. It really was just a big coincidence that I used for narrative convenience.

Hope that's not too disappointing.

I just discovered this story and I can't wait for more. Your alternate reality is intriguing and you don't have any obvious spelling/grammar issues. My compliments to your editor.

Thanks for reviewing. I'm glad you're enjoying it.

I have to admit -- once Harry came back from the dead in DH, I knew in my heart that this story would get written one way or another. Too bad JKR didn't think the audience mature enough to handle the death of the hero.

Those Bastard Gryfindors! Sounds like they need a strong hand to keep them in line :) I loved Ginny the inventor - that sounds really cool. The mirrors are a great touch too, maybe Weasly's Wheezes could become the Apple of the wizarding world?
I wonder if Dean could have commuted from America to Diagon Alley each day in a reasonable time. A floo trip seems to take much less time than a comparable aeroplane ride. Too late now of course.
Comments from author:
In other iterations of my future universe, a transatlantic floo trip would be done kind of like Space Mountain -- you strap into a specially-made rail car that automatically dispenses floo powder and announces where you're going. It takes about an hour and is VERY uncomfortable and nauseating. Plus, remember that Dean didn't find out until well after the kid was put up for adoption, and anyway Hermione, as the mother, would have had most of the rights in the scenario since (a) Dean wasn't her husband and (b) in the US, fathers have pretty much no rights whatsoever. (Read Reason magazine. You'll see stories about it. It's quite depressing.)

WWW might very well become the Wizarding Apple, but this was 2009, before Apple was truly the juggernaut it is today. Maybe by 2012 they are. *shrug*

Sounds like the Griffindors need a swift kick in the seat of their pants.
Comments from author:
I think I unconsciously modeled them after Patriots fans -- so used to winning all the time that they get puffed-up and snide about it. As a lifelong Dolphins fan, I continue to hope that Tom Brady ends up on the cover of Madden.

Thanks for reading, and thanks for reviewing.

A nice gentle reintroduction to Hogwarts for Hermione, but the Great Hall will be the opposite! I hope she can cope!
And you had Percy being sweet and nice again :) I hope for his sake that Ginny never finds out that he knew more than she did!

Very interesting story, very much different from almost all the other HP fanfic I've read.

I just wish your chapters were a bit longer...or there were more of them....lot and lots more!
Comments from author:
I'm glad you're enjoying it. I definitely went into it trying to hang a lampshade on HP fanfic as it was back in 2008/9, when I wrote it. I imagine it's changed quite a bit now already.

There's more than 30,000 words in the story, and each chapter will be about 2000 words, depending upon where the best stopping points were. So you'll be getting lots more over the next few weeks.

Thanks for reading, and thanks for reviewing.

Review:
Well that was a surprise. Out of everyone I would never have expected that to happen to Hermione. I do feel very sorry for her child. Imagine what they could have become with Hermione as a teacher! It is one way to get Ron to back off though, isn't it :(
Comments from author:
Well, Hermione made a mistake -- she didn't practice safe sex. Now she has to deal with the consequences. Just because she's intelligent doesn't mean she doesn't make mistakes.

Thanks for reading and reviewing.
