Review:
I think Connor is as strong as a master vampire or his father Angel. He is not strong as a slayer though. Angel once commented that Buffy was stronger then him and was proven on the show Slayers get stronger with age. Explains why Buffy went from breaking handcuffs in the first season to ripping off a steal door in the last. That and wielding a God troll hammer that not even Spike could lift.

Your right that there is something to be said for experience. Connor was really only beaten two times in a straight up fight when he was at his best. Angel beat him more then once when he was trying to kill him. Even though they were roughly equal in strength and speed, Angel won due to his greater skill and experience. Faith also beat him though in that case more due to him being overpowered then skill as Faith is more of a brawler then anything else much like Connor himself.

Two things give Connor an edge in combat. He heals quickly and he is incredibly resistant to blunt force trauma. He was once thrown out of a 6 story building and was able to walk away with nothing but simple bruising. Not to mention being hit by entities much stronger then him such as Jasmine, the Beast, and Marcus Hamilton the demon lawyer and only wind up being stunned for a few seconds to a minute at most.

So all in all Connor would give anyone even someone with more skill a run for their money or by simply pushing past the pain and winning.
Comments from author:
I believe Connor is phenomenally strong, but sadly, raw strength alone is insufficient for certain kinds of fights. I think he can survive just about anything, but that doesn't mean he can't be incapacitated. Remember *Giles* killed Glory -- who was their most fearsome villain... it depends on when you get to a person and how. for one thing, I suspect that unlike his father, he's *not* bullet proof. A flesh wound would heal fast, but a wound to a vital organ could just as easily be fatal to him as to anyone else.

So, yes, in a one on one fight, Connor has a definite edge, but professional fighters seldom fight fair. Life and death fights are generally life and death fights b/c your opponent wants to kill you and is prepared to put him/herself into a dangerous situation to accomplish it.

I got the opinion that Connor was sensitive to things like stun guns... remember when *Fred* and Gunn took him down after they found out what he'd done to Angel? there's a big difference between hunting non sentient monsters and fighting trained fighters with strategies and tactical advantages.

Connor's special. Absolutely. He's fascinating too. What he isn't is invincible. When I go there, I start writing 'Super-Connor' and I don't do 'super' anyone... If he's a person, we can relate to him... if he's a paragon... not so much.

More soon. Hope you will like it. Thank you for your thoughtful review.

Review:
Very interesting. I like the way sg1 is concerned but give him the benefit of the doubt. The supernatural people just want him dead on general principles. Talk about bigoted. This is the first story which has grabbed my attention in awhile. Looking forward to the next chapter.
Comments from author:
Glad you are enjoying the SG-1 relationship with Connor... I think it has possibilities, doesn't it? Yes, the old hunters are very bloody-minded. They have more than a little in common with the old Council, don't you think? You fight a fight one way so long, you lose perspective and can't see the trees any more, only a dark dangerous forest... so if one tree is too distinctive, you want to burn it -- b/c it might hide danger.

So very glad that my story has grabbed your attention. I'll do all I can to keep it memorable.. and good.

Hey, my Blue friend! I haven't watched Supernatural since the second season, but you are making me enjoy it anyway. This is a REALLY entertaining story, and I get a great big grin on my face when I see an update. Thanks so much for that!
Comments from author:
thank you so much. I'm so glad you enjoy my version and that it makes you grin! You know, I think I enjoy it more because I was able to watch it in one sitting... well, not in one sitting, but I watched season one through six over the course of weeks and I've decided this is the best way to see some series. Only when you can see the contiguous narrative can you really get into the story and the characters. While some episodes stand alone, SPN is really a soap opera about brothers... the monsters are important b/c the epic of relationship is deeply intertwined with the supernatural arc, but at it's heart, it's a soap opera... I do hope I can do the three universes justice and keep you coming back.

Peace,

Blue

Review:
Awesome detail on Connor's abilities. I like how he has no idea what he can do until he does it either! What he can do must be driving Carter crazy! Big call by Sam to stand against his Dad too. I wonder what the prophecy says and what it really means? Pity they don't have Wesley hard won experience with prophecies to give them pause. And now six guys with a heartbeat almost as slow as Connor's? I guess that means they are not vampires but it sounds like they might be a little more than Human too! John Winchester isn't going to be happy if Connor saves him :)
Comments from author:
Thank you very much. I always try to get the detail right... enough without being too babbly... Yes, Carter has a human sized project.

Sam Winchester is at a turning point in his life. It's going to change all his relationships and challenge everything he's learned about life. Yes, Wesley's memories of his prophecy disasters would be quite useful right now. And of course, it's a prophecy against Angel's son. Remember the LAST time someone got on the wrong side of a prophecy about Angel's son?

six guys... may just be the tip of the iceberg. They are definitely not vampires.

I promise you John Winchester is in for a world of hurt and 'unhappy'. Should be interesting... should be fun... for me to write anyway... my characters... not so much with the fun thing.

Great chapter, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how Connor's relationship with SG1 progresses, given how impressed they've been with his level-headed-ness and responsibility.
Comments from author:
Thank you. Yes, this will change his relationship with SG-1 drastically. They are impressed with him, but the in the next chapter they will learn some very important things.

Review:
Nice trick using the Mercs, the hunters are gonna be veeery happy to see Connor helping them.

By the way, I really think that in a serious fight, Teal'c or Jack can get the drop on Connor.

Why?, because, apart from being the most experienced fighters of SG-1, they're both followers of the Two Golden Rules of a street fight: Cheat like Crazy, and kick them in the nether regions xD!.
Cool chapter, see ya!!!.
Comments from author:
It should be an interesting fight for all concerned. I don't think there will be much 'happy' to be had.

Yes, I think Connor is not gonna do as well as he thinks in a serious fight with skilled opponents. Teal'c was assessing him, not trying to kill him. Just as Buffy an Angel both faced superior assailants and survived, Jack and Teal'c have a history of surviving the impossible. I would not count them out.

It should be a fun fight... if pain is your thing.

Review:
Aww, I was really looking forward to SG1 vs Hunters, Fight!

This is less fun, even if it is Hunters vs NID plus confusion = joy

Of course I may change my mind by next chapter, but hey who's counting. Also I notice that you conviniently interupted him from telling about any of his dreams, either of mass killing or odd thanksgiving families.
Comments from author:
Don't worry, there will be plenty of time for talk after the ass-kicking!

Now it's time for a little less talk... well, actually, there'll be talk too... but first, there will be be... CHAOS.

This will be fun and profit. You'll never guess how much fun... and lots of pain too... You may get dizzy with the 'who's fightin' who'...

hehe.

Review:
They often refer to Connor as a male Slayer, but I've never really agreed with that assessment. Faith, after being in a coma and then jail for the previous couple of years, handled him easily, and he had spent his entire life fighting in Quortoth. At the time, he was the far more experienced and in shape fighter, which makes me think Faith was physically superior to beat him so easily. At the very least, he lacked the Slayer enhanced combat learning, and he didn't exactly have an impressive hand to hand fighter as a mentor, so I suppose it could have been skill, but I've never felt that that was all of it. Just my two cents. Anyway, very interesting story so far.
Comments from author:
He's definitely not Faith's equal. Then again, I wouldn't think of him as being a slouch after training. Surviving against non sentient beings takes speed, luck and strength. Surviving against sentient beings with super powers takes actual training. I think he has good instincts... at least for the purposes of this story. But put him up against someone with training, and he might still come out behind, particularly if that person is used to fighting the supernatural. I'm glad you're finding it interesting. Believe me, I won't be making Connor into super boy any time soon.

In fact, his first ass kicking is right around the corner.
