I love this and can't wait to see how this unfolds. Damn Dumbledore and his melding. Poor sirus didn't do it!! Hopefully James wakes up soon. Can not wait to see dawn reaction to the baby and see where that goes. Good job!
Comments from author:
Yeah, Dumbledore is an arse. He thinks he knows everything, so never bothers to look past his assumptions. I do actually fell bad about sending Sirius to Azkaban, especially because I love him so much, but I do want to say as close to canon as possible. Now, that said, I do think Dumbledore is planning on giving him a trial (the Lestranges got one!), since this time he wasn't on the scene of a slaughter laughing. But that still doesn't make up for what he will have to endure in the meantime.
James will wake up two weeks after Halloween. He is now in a coma, but he will still be in each chapter. He will have visitors after all, not to mention we will continue to see scenes from his past as he dreams.
Poor Dawn, yes she is going to have an interesting reaction to the baby, which Buffy won't understand at first. Still, I have a big plan for Dawn, and I hope that it will make sense as we go forward and that people enjoy it too.

AllenPittReview:
Huh.... so Sirius is in Azkaban at least until (if) James Potter wakes up. And even then people might say being in a coma etc has messed with his memory. That HP has vanished might not become apparent for years. It's not like anyone checked on him at the Dursleys... Would be 'amusing' if no one knew he was gone until the letters went out.
And here is where being fanatical about being hidden comes back to bite them. Even the wiccans etc the Council knows don't know, probably.
I feel kind of bad for Dawn--not making any friends etc. But maybe being an Auntie will help a bit, make her more outgoing.
Gotta wonder if Dawn could use a wand. She sure has a magical core.
Not sure why you're mentioning the whole "Dana" thing... unless that's to show they didn't realize how Andrew would act with his whole "no one trusts you anymore" thing to Angel. Buffy/Giles don't realize how alienated Angel became after that?
Comments from author:
Well, they would have discovered Harry wasn't at Privet Drive the moment Mrs. Figg arrived and told Dumbledore he was missing. Though, what Dumbledore would have done next is anyone's guess. Would he have alerted the Aurors as I hope? Or would he have tried to keep it to himself?
You're definitely right that the secrecy of the Wizarding World is definitely to their detriment at times. It's not going to come up until the next chapter, but Giles is going to be contacting MI5 and the police, so the Muggles definitely know there is a missing kid. But is there someone in the Wizarding World who knows how the Muggle system works and how to get in contact with them? This, I think, is a grey area never really explored by the books. I think it seems as though the Hit Wizards and Aurors are more prone to use magic and memory charms on their Muggle counterparts rather than work with them.
Also, they just fought a war where the Muggle-borns were the primary targets. If there are any who work in the Ministry and know the Muggle system, I am going on the premise that they died in the war, or work in another department than the DMLE. Plus, they would all be adults and possibly unfamiliar with the way the Muggle world has modernized and created Amber alerts and such to prevent kidnapped children from falling through the cracks. These are just my thoughts of course, I could be wrong.
As for Dawn, yeah, she is in a tricky spot which will just get trickier as the chapters go on. She has a lot to deal with, and a secret she is not telling Buffy. She absolutely has the ability to use a wand, and that will come up in great detail later.
The Dana thing actually is funny. Its not really related to this story, but it was happening about six months (As they said in the episode) after all the potentials were activated, and as it is November and just about six months later, Giles would be distracted by it. Also, Buffy noticed all these things happening at one time, owls, robes, ritual baby issue, and then Dana. She can explain away all the portents once they catch Dana because its pretty hard to think zebras when horses are trampling you. (Can you imagine if someone evil did get their hands on a crazy slayer? Oh the damage they could do, just look at Faith.) Buffy will have no reason to look further for an explanation once Dana is in custody, and certainly no reason to imagine a hidden magical world and a prophecy.

clockworkorangeReview:
Looks like Buffy found Harry just in time, if his lips' were already blue from the cold. Vernon Dursley is truly despicable. I can't wait for Vernon Dursley to get his comeuppance for being such a poor excuse of a human being.
Since Buffy seems to have detected the horcrux, does that mean that she'll find a way to rid Harry of it?
Poor Sirius! Guess he's still going to take a trip to Azkaban, but at least this time he'll only stay there until James wakes up and is able to rectify the situation.
Comments from author:
Yes, she definitely did. While he can bounce back quickly because he is a wizard, I'm thinking that any warming charm Dumbledore placed on him would have worn off by then. I think wizard kids are just as susceptible to certain things, but they do recover quickly. Yes, James will have no patience for Dursley. It's all very ironic because if he had just taken the baby in, James would have collected him in two weeks and Vernon wouldn't have ever had to think about magic again. Now, he is guaranteed to think about it every day for the rest of his life.
Regarding the horcrux, yep! With a witch as powerful as Willow, there is no way that Buffy wouldn't try to do everything in her power to make him as healthy as possible. Though, the healing ritual will have other consequences Buffy could never have intended.
Oh, Sirius, how I love him, but unfortunately if all the HP stuff had actually happened in canon, I do believe that Sirius would still have gone to Azkaban. James will definitely fix things when he wakes, but much will happen until then.

I'm really excited about this one, it's so wonderful to see a new idea! I'm enjoying it quite a bit, although I'm heartbroken about Sirius, of course.
...so, Canary Wharf, eh? I mean, I know that's a real place, but my brain immediately goes "Cybermen, OMG!"
Comments from author:
Lol to the Cybermen. I am a big Doctor Who fan so that may or may not have been intentional. :) I will say though that while I am not following the comics, I am not adverse to using ideas from them, the only problem is I don't like any of the ideas! A castle in Scotland? Really? Aside from the obvious steal from HP, considering the bringers took out the last Council using modern weapons, you'd think that they would adapt.
I'm glad you like the plot so far too. I really wanted to do something different, and there are more twists and turns to come. It absolutely killed me to send Sirius to Azkaban, if I had my way he never would have spent one moment there, but I am trying to stay as close to canon as possible. And, unfortunately, the switch he, James, and Lily made with regards to the Fidelius charm means that he is headed to prison. Obviously, things would be different if they had told Dumbledore, or would they? ;)

I like the twists you've incorporated! The blend of the worlds promises to be interesting and captivating :) Buffy nagging Giles was pretty funny, as why wouldn't owls suddenly reversing their habits be strange?! It'll be fun to see where you take this story, I can't wait to read more!
Comments from author:
Thanks so much! I am glad you are liking it so far, as there are many more twists and blends of the two worlds. There's a little follow up on the owls in the next chapter, which I hope you like.

Very nicely done so far. The first two chapters. Were very well balanced and had a lot of great details. Good plot, great flow. Excellent stuff so far. Very enjoyable read. Albus is a deadman. Hahahah. Ok I'll stop. Maybe....heheh. Wonder what James will be doing once he finds out? Bad things are in Albus Dumbledores future. Buffy will protect and love that little guy like no ones business. Here's to what should be a very fun way to spend my time. Thank you for sharing.
Comments from author:
Thank you so much! I'm going to have a lot of fun with this story, so it is only fair that my readers do as well. Yes, Buffy is going to be the Alpha mama in a lot of ways, and there is much more to come on that. As for James, believe me that it is killing me to have him in a coma for the present. Unfortunately, a lot happens in the two weeks he is out of it but hopefully he feels present even when he is not. Lots of fun stuff when he wakes up.

Comments from author:
LMAO, I laughed so hard when I got your review. In a word, YEAH!
Of course, if James had died as in the books, Dumbledore would have gotten away with it all. Poor James, he is never going to be able to see his old headmaster as an idol again.

Review of chapter "Prologue" from
WolfWriterReview:
James isn't going to be pissed off; that's too mild of a word. He is going to go completely ballistic when he finds out what Dumbledore did to Harry.
Hopefully, James will be able to find him before anything to bad happens to him.
If he has a family house elf, he/she can find Harry and bring the baby home without too much fuss.
And once he finds out that Vernon abandoned the baby who knows where, I don't see Vernon lasting too long.
As for Dumbles, he may be head of the Wizengamot, but James is the Lord of an Ancient and Noble House, which I think outranks a Supreme Mugwump.
If he doesn't challenge old Dumpy to a duel, he can always settle for socking him in the snoot, and breaking his nose a third time.
Or, you know.....changing him into a cockroach and stepping on him so that he goes SPLAT!!!!
Vicious? Yup! But it works.
Of course, this is your story and you already have something in mind for Albus and James.
I just hope its truly vicious and funny as all heck.
Comments from author:
Umm, yeah, one almost feels sorry for Dumbledore, but not really. The sad part is that people will only object to what happened because James lived and it went wrong. There is a lot less anger than there should be about leaving a baby on a doorstep in November. This never made sense to me.
Yeah, James is going to have tough time of it. He wakes to basically everything having gone wrong. His wife is dead, his son is missing, his best friend is...oops, spoilers. :)
There are a couple of elves belonging to the Potters, but they won't be able to find Harry, due to interfering magics which will be explained as the story goes on. And yes, Vernon will get his comeuppance too.
As for James being the head of a Noble and Ancient house, he isn't. There are three levels of Houses in my head canon that will be relevant to this story.
Highest: Noble and Most Ancient House (The Blacks)
Middle: Most Honorable House (The Potters)
Lowest: Much Honored House (The Dumbledores)
Basically, these distinctions are archaic versions of English nobility. They matter little except to people who are obsessed with them like the Blacks and Voldemort. That said, James is definitely going to be working the system from the inside and if the origins of his name help him, so much the better...

christytrekkieReview:
Trickles of butterfly effects throughout love it.
Comments from author:
Yes, this will continue throughout the story. Certain things like canon history and the rules of magic will not change, but everything that happens after Halloween is up for grabs.
I wanted to come at this story specifically as James survives Voldemort's attack. I have seen more than one story about James not being there that night and so lives to raise Harry, however I wanted to do it differently. From what Hagrid said in Book 1, it seems that part of Harry's myth, if you will, is due to the fact that Voldemort never left any survivors, not just that Harry survived the Killing curse. By this token, James surviving the attack, even if he didn't survive a Killing Curse, would make him just as famous as his son.
I also wanted to look at what would happen when the fantasy world of Harry Potter meets the realistic horror world of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. When two such worlds join, you don't abandon a baby who can walk on a doorstep without there being major consequences. One part of those consequences is that when James wakes, he is going to question, and ultimately seek to change a world and system that allows such things to happen.
So yep, tons of fun coming up.

clockworkorangeReview:
This looks really interesting.
Can't wait to see what a Harry raised by Buffy will be like.
I also can't wait to see the fallout from Dumbledore's (ill-advised, blood wards or not) decision. James Potter's going to be hella pissed off when he finds out that his son is missing because of Dumbledore and his meddling (why the hell would he ever think leaving a child on a doorstep would be a good idea?) and also Vernon Dursley abandoning the tot.
Yay for Sirius being less reckless (and indeed having less reason to be so, with James surviving the attack) and staying with James at the hospital instead of rushing to confront Peter, thus avoid a stay in Azkaban!
Comments from author:
I know, HP as Buffy's son? Too much fun. She'd probably be an extremely cautious mom when it came to Halloween costumes, but other than that the sky is the limit. It is going to be a lot of fun when the Scoobies find out about the Wizarding world.
Yeah, Dumbledore is going to be in a lot of trouble. I tried to come at this from a perspective of: James lives, what changes? I really thought about it, and that was when I realized that I was pretty sure that Dumbledore wouldn't make any changes to what he did whatsoever. He thinks James is going to die, Sirius is a traitor, and that Harry should be with family. Dumbledore's problem is that he thinks he always knows best, and can make huge mistakes as a result.
And as for James, I think pissed off is an understatement. Once he wakes up, they will be two weeks behind (what they think is) Harry's kidnapper. The Ministry is still in chaos, Death Eaters are still being hunted down, Sirius will have a whole thing, and Peter is a traitor and on the loose. Plus, he is now famous and his beloved wife is dead.
As for Sirius, yep, his main priority is James, and once he finds out James is stable, his second thought is Harry. As for him not going to Azkaban, well you will just have to wait and see. Dumbledore does think he is a traitor after all.
Yep, Dumbledore is going to rue the day he ever got tangled up with James Potter.
