Excellent. I've quite enjoyed this series, especially "Plight". Good to see it is continuing. Eowyn will learn that shieldmaidens--and Slayers--can weep. But then they can rise...

I was stunned and ecstatic that you updated this series. I feel there are too few Buffy/Faramir fics, and I sincerely hope you keep with that. If anything can rip Faramir away from trying to please his father, I think this would do it. It's the ultimate betrayal, and I completely can see him just deeming his father not worth it and finding some way to go to Buffy. Boromir would be furious, I imagine. Honestly, I hope that's what happens. I like Faramir, and want him to have a reason to fight back against his father, and for what he wants.
Your writing is captivating, and I very much hope to see this updated again soon. That or your "Water" series, which is so unique and I can't wait to see where you go with that one, either.
Looking forward to your next update!

That last line about Faramir being the kind of man who makes a shieldmaiden weep just killed me. It's a meaningful sentiment given a flawless expression. Something I forgot to mention from the last chapter. I really enjoy the way you've thought out Eowyn's cultural background and integrated it into the story so we get Eowyn tending Buffy because her Brothers can't be alone with a single woman. I'm eagerly anticipating the next installment.

I had made my peace with this series being as complete as it was ever going to get. An update let alone a whole new story is an unexpected delight. You have my heartfelt thanks for deciding to continue it. I love the way you write Buffy and I'm really glad that whatever you've been doing since you took a break from fanfic your storytelling has lost none of it's edge.
As far as this chapter goes you did your usual superb job creating atmosphere. I'm always afraid with you stories that If I pick it apart he magic will go out of the overall effect but it hasn't happened so far. Eowyn is a good choice for the viewpoint character. Her horror at the ordeal Buy has been through is palpable. I'm looking forward to seeing were you will go with this in the next chapter.

I had to go back a reread every story for a refresher. Gotta say I love the stories and love the fact that she didn't know the languages and had to learn. I hope you don't kill the twins though that would be sad. But hope she can meet back up with Faramir, though I do wonder what causes the men to be enchanted by her.

So sad that Buffy wants to know what has become of Faramir and how she came to escape. But Eowyn does not know and cannot tell her. I wonder if Boromir even told Theodred anything much beyond that they must flee and never return. I imagine Faramir and Boromir both with be watched very closely over the next few years and it is not likely that either will have a chance to ride to Rohan to check up on Buffy. I don't know that their reception would be friendly even if they did?

I'm so glad to see you continuing the series "the Girl," its one of my favorites.
You have a gift for telling stories about Buffy from another person's perspective. What you hint at happening to Buffy, what you don't say, tells just as much of a story atwhat you outright state, and it hints at more mysteries. Its a great hook.
Can't wait to see more of this, I went back and reread the whole series, before I started this story, finished just in time to have 2 chapters to read.

And she only wonders how Faramir fares. I like the care Eowyn is taking with her, but I wonder why Eomer will not look at the shieldmaiden--is he worried he'll suffer the same fate as other men? Or is it out of respect? Or even disgust? Can't wait to find out. This is both heartbreaking & hopeful. Love it.
