The main problem is that a Venator has short legs and doesn´t have any real production capability.
Now if a Civil-Industrial I-C2 droid was on the flightdeck, a BRT-supercomputer for the ships main computer togeter with a good amount of cloning gear, then they would stand a change to get her up-and-running long term without having to do lots of modifications.
A reason for such gear could be the construction of a fall-back cloning base for if Kamino would fall for some reason and expanding to include a shipyard and such would then be easy.
Though the Venator could also be used as the basis for such a base, just use enough Venators.
Just remember, Venators can land and if you want to not let people know this, check the Lusankya her history of how she became parked at Coruscant

http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x141/zeppo_01/VenatorModularOptions.pngThe light blue section could be converted to a Gua´old style flightdeck, that way the original (red) main deck could be used for cargo.
Pink could be closed-up with mission specifiek moduls and light green could be used for crew-deck, fuel storage, ect, ect.
Later Star Destroyer style superstructure will give them back their living space, for one.
Mag-Lev trains could be used for internal personal transport, like in TOS-BSG their Battlestars.
Another upgrade possibility is lenghtening the ship along the Imperial Star Destroyer lines and putting the superstructure of a Interdictor (were the grav.-domes are now modular pods) on the underside without the bridge section.
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Imperial_I-class_Star_Destroyerhttp://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Interdictor-class_Star_DestroyerThough you´re forgetting a pefectly good plot-tribble, what if the day in the last episodes of seizon one was during the Sunnydale Halloween?
With that I mean is that those two Gua´old ships attack during the night of Sunnydale´s famed halloween and that because of the aftermath of this, makes the Venator staying around, though damaged, thanks to having made a capture of one of the alien ships while SG-1 wrecks the other one or so.
Thus having moved them out of range of the spell and that leaves things around even though they get their mind back.
But then strangly enough, only the Republic people coming from Earth, stay around, all the other troops are gone and they now have two ships to worry about.
What I´ve never have seen, is a story were they used Sunnydale´s industry to build the tech needed to save a few things (useal computer test in some Sci-Fi), the first computer could then start upgrading the factory systems for the real thing.
Or using the god status of the Gua´old to do a little planet grabbing of a little real estate with some pretty decent production capabilities.
Whats more real, the Gua´old their fake powers or the force?
Do remember that blaster gas or Tibanna gas is produced by Beldon´s, so unless they find a way to get more, they have to be carefull.
Lucky enough you have series like star-trek and Stargate does have ring shaped transportuers to travel between ships and so.

Ever checked the SSD page?
There are special SSD mobile repair ships, they contian everything to start a new fleet from the ground up, besides crew stuff.
Edit2:
The EVE and I-C2 construction droids work thanks to their Molecular Furnace, basicaly a Fusion Torch, certain mining droids have the same abilities as construction droids, though way slower in the build section.

"The main problem is that a Venator has short legs and doesn´t have any real production capability."
No worries have some plans to counter this.
"Now if a Civil-Industrial I-C2 droid was on the flightdeck, a BRT-supercomputer for the ships main computer togeter with a good amount of cloning gear, then they would stand a change to get her up-and-running long term without having to do lots of modifications.

No worries I am not Star Wars newbie here my friend, I have read the vast majority of the EU Books, the Thrawn Trilogy, all of the X-Wing Books, recently Mercy Kill, and all of the NJO series. The only thing I am NOT touching, even with a full length light saber is the new stuff after NJO. /spits in anger/
I admit my original plan would have the Resolute with a few of those Construction Droids that the Rouge Squadron liberated during the Liberation of Coruscant on board. However these I-C2 Droids look like a better idea though thanks for that.
As for the Cloning Stuff... /whistles innocently/
And yes I know about the Venator being able to land but I am going to be doing something special planned that should be pretty awesome.

Ah! No. That is one thing I am not going to do sorry, the Resolute is not going to get any Goa'uld based upgrades besides some minor Asgard-based upgrades to the shields and hyperdrive. As for everything else, no this version of the ship is going to be a bit different from what we see it in the series. /whistles innocently/

Sorry No. There is a reason I choose the Venator Class instead of say a Clone Wars era Victory Class.

You are forgetting where this based, for this Stargate Universe is quite different from canon. For it is purposely based in a Quantum Reality-Based Alt Reality. Therefore the First Battle of Earth with Korel and his father attacking the planet happen differently here. /shrug/ So no.

There are plenty to do that, like Xata and a few other stories therefore I am not going to do that. I already put in a hint into the story that Xander is not going to be hanging around Earth for a while fighting against the Vampires and such. Partly thanks to his knowing about the threat of the Goa'uld out there ready to destroy the planet he calls home, another reason is that I am not a big Buffy fan besides the bit about Halloween fics for they are always good fun to read.
And no. While Xander may get a bit of Anakins powers in the Force it is not all that much. Basically he is similar to that one pilot in Wraith Squadron that has a very tiny bit of Force potential. So sorry not going to happen either.
So that said the next chapter shall up soon so stay tuned.
