I am so glad you wrote a continuation to 'More Fierce Than Fire'. The picture of Bilbo sitting by Buttercups bed and his thoughts as well as how horribly Thorin was taking her being in that condition with little hope of her surviving..was just heartbreaking. I had chills when Thorin took her hand and spoke to her. Thank you for giving us an ending with Buttercup and Thorin.
Some lovely touches on Buttercup's Childhood and growing years. I'm glad Bilbo found it in himself to share her before it was too late and I'm glad that it doesn't seem so terrible to him now :)

I loved this! I am so glad you decided to continue this idea of Buffy as Bilbo's sister. It is such an interesting premise, just like your other LOTRs stories, especially Ebb. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I am excited to now. It is interesting to think that Buffy's presence would have prevented the battle of the Five Armies, and Laketown would have survived. Wonderful!
(I don't know why, but I have this image in my head of Buffy and Thorin's daughter marrying Aragorn, and uniting all the races through marriage.)

An odd pairing. Makes more of Thorin and less of Bilbo, which is completely backwards to the book. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I would take the book as canon regardless, given it's been 75 years since it was published. Not your best work, IMHO. Lack of context as to why Buffy/Buttercup would be in love with him -- all the dwarves in the book come off pretty poorly, Thorin worst of all. I've pretty much loved to distraction every story you've written on this site. There generally is a sense of mystery, of moving towards something that will be powerful in its resolution, of marrying the story to the image/character of Buffy we all have inside of us in near perfect ways. Maybe because this one's at the end without a real journey, but I really don't like it at all. Sorry about that.
