Review of chapter "Chapter Two" from Sandi
Review:
I couldn't really take full advantage of a gift like that but my best friend would.
Comments from author:
Obviously, you've never used and abused the rules of any RPG before. ;-)

Review:
Interesting to see that this story is all about dialog at least so far.
Comments from author:
Just as a warning, if you're looking for a lot of slam-bang! action in a story, you won't be seeing it in this story.

At least, not real soon, if at all.

Review of chapter "Chapter Two" from Vilkath
Review:
Like some one else said before the best thing to do in DnD is psionics. You can get access to a wide selection of powers that do most of the things that magic and Clerics can do and you can use them at any time. Sure you have a limited pool of PSP's to work with but other than that your good and you get those back automatically from either 8 hours of sleep or 4hrs of meditation. While with spells in most versions you have to have 8hrs of uniterupted sleep and then spend time memorizing the spells every day. Both clerics and mages suffer from this problem. In 2nd eddition it was 10min of memorization per spell level memorized. That means ONE 9th level spell is 90min of sitting and staring at a book....
Comments from author:
Just because AD&D was mentioned as an example, doesn't mean that their rules will be applicable to what is actually available.

'Game balance' is actually a fairly stupid idea when it prevents people from playing established characters. Have you ever tried to play a wizard like 'Gandalf' in AD&D? Not really all that easy to do, without making him god-like. ;-(

Review:
Xander geek-speak. A perfect way to end a day. :-)
Comments from author:
Yep, but not nearly as confusing as Willow-babble or Buffy-Valley-Girl-speak. ;-)

Review of chapter "Chapter Two" from VillageOrchid
Review:
So, it was a trick question. Anyhow, an interesting grouping of ideas. Alternate Xander just needs to know that not all Deamons are evil - that changes things from the start - but he also can have a grouping of "upgrades," if he's willing to not be a passive participant in the fight. Perhaps he can be an avatar of Hermes and have the ability to make holy water, be good at communication and move fast. He might still need to study martial arts on his own but he'd be able to apply speed.
Comments from author:
Yep, almost everything the Scoobies say is different from what normal people think it is. ;-)

And any changes that Xander's visiting doppelganger can make is almost certainly going to help improve all of the Scoobies' future situations when considering where his visitor came from. ;-(

And you'll see what the various 'upgrades' being offered are going to require in the next few chapters.

It's (hopefully) going to go quite differently than anyone expects. ;-)

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from shakeval
Review:
keeping in character with xander i think he'd either choose something like a warlock or multi-class the three. . . . . or he'd cheat, in real life there isn't cheating only power levelers and survival

it's a cool idea and i really hope you have enough material for at least one or two more chapters to this
Comments from author:
Well, remember what they say - if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying.

And Xander has always been motivated to keep his loved ones safe.

And we take a 6 sided die - 1/4 Warrior, 2/5 Rogue and 3/6 Wizard and we roll... oops, hit the floor. And we roll, 5 ... What are the odds on that.
Comments from author:
As I pointed out to another reviewer, you're still thinking inside the box. ;-)

LOL!

Rogue or maybe wizard... depends on how the levels and powers work.

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from Oxnate
Review:
I think it's funny that everyone's taking the D&D rules to heart. Clerics can use maces and Rogues can climb walls. LOL.
Comments from author:
The rogues I've been considering are a lot more multi-skilled. ;-)

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from aeraveil
Review:
Well, he could go Paladin... No, Xander is too sneaky for that. Cleric is better than the wizard choice.

Clerics can use maces.
Comments from author:
Xander most definitely isn't lawful good, since i don't see him as having any compunctions about taking out someone he considers a threat to his loved ones without any warning at all.

A quick knife in the back, or across the throat, and the problem is solved! ;-)

Review:
the obvious answer is, of course, a druid. because druids have individual abilities more powerful than entire classes!
Comments from author:
There are many 'obvious' answers, and my muse has been telling me about ALL of them. 0.0
