Review of chapter "Chapter Nine." from (Current Donor)vidicon
Review:
And so it ends. The deathtoll is certainly lower than I was expecting. I hope Burns doesn't get to become an officer. His meeting Faith then would be bad. A pity about Sally Philps though. Good to see Faith take her place in her MOS. Even if it is a dirty job.

Thanks for writing

Review:
It may have been the hardest to write, but it may also be the best of the series; certainly it's a competitor. It's a kind of "transition" piece, showing Faith's evolution into the professional soldier she will eventually become. It also has good supporting characters and a really good fight scene. All in all, an excellent job.

Glad you liked it.

Yep, what a difference the Army can make in the life of a person. Faith really found herself in there, she really did.
Miller and DeWindt, I hope they can survive this road trip, good luck to them, they're gonna need to survive :S.
Cool chapter, see ya!!.

The instructors didn't see Faith's group had someone on watch.

I could guess Burns arranges payback against Faith and her team but he runs into the beast the escapes; his buddies not so lucky.
Faith takes it out with a shovel.

With Sally inspiring everyone under her, Burns will blow his top.
Comments from author:
Well this could happen...or everyone gets eaten!

Well with a bit of luck the idiot currently 'in charge' will get eaten, and Thornbush as well. And the L-T and the First sergeant won't. And maybe even Miller will survive. I'm not sure though, I think Faith would make pretty good officer. Or the Sergeant Major of the Army.

Thanks for writing
Comments from author:
Like her buddy said, I've always seen Faith as the professional NCO the sort that makes L-t's shiver in their boots!

Nice update. I like how you're setting up the inevitable fights between Faith and the CO of this group of recruits... not to mention possible 'in game' ambushes and of course our ominous bad guy monster in the woods - who sounds like a meaner version of Golum or a Ware... Unless I misread, he's a cursed human who is now a monster and eternally hungry?

And about my previous comments- I was talking about the fact that for the next story in the series when you make the 'jump in time' as it were back to the future or present or whatever, you can take into account the new military rules... opens up options for Faith to go up in rank, perhaps get in on senate briefings, talks with the DoD and gives an opening for her to be working directly for Riley... which gives all sorts of options for going where you were going in regards to the stuff that Willow and the scoobies in general have been hiding from Faith and that whole plot arc that you've been slowly moving towards. Perhaps cross it over with the Rainbow team from Tom Clancy? Just like you're hinting at in this prequel fic about how unorganized the fight is against HSTs are back then, take us to a bigger view of the fight when you return to present time? I can see Faith becoming kind of a 2CI for Riley in the fight against monsters?

Cheers.

This is about the 2nd out of 12th or 13th stories in the Fita-verse so a lot of what you suggest has 'happened'.

Glad to see Miller is thorough. And, that the US gov. knows about the slayer & all that. They should offer her funding or something. (The council were real cheapskates).

Review:
Very nice update once again. I see how you threw in a couple of lines along what i mentioned in my previous review.

I will say that you should check out CNN/NYT!!! General Leon Penetta is getting rid of the 1994 ruling disallowing women to serve in combat. This opens so many doors in your story for a sequel where Faith can finally truly show her true strength openly in a combat unit. Perhaps it's time to go back to the Middle East or Africa- perhaps an imaginary intervention in Syria or (please lets not happen in rl) a war with Iran. Hypocritical Islamic extremists raising demons to fight "the infadels" would work.
Comments from author:
Remember this is a prequel and a lot of what you suggested has happened, and before too long I'm going to move this story to its correct place in the series.

Cheers,
D.

Review of chapter "Chapter Five." from (Current Donor)MaxGSandeman
Review:
Faith regretted pulling her gun so far off target, when she was instructed to fire another five rounds. She should show improvement the next time.

Other than a broken arm, nothing more about Davis. At least the women will have a better idea of how to defend themselves, after Faith gets through training them.
Faith as an instructor! It seems unusual but then natural.

I wonder if the everyone who sees Faith and how she handles the courses, is suffering Sunnydale syndrome; they are looking but not really seeing.

Nice way of handling a furry beast. Murphy has struck again; don't ever assume that you got it.
Comments from author:
Sunnydale Syndrome doesn't just happen in Sunnydale!
