Nice. I'm a big fan of the Ship of the Line challenge fics. Nice to see a new one. :) We'll see how it turns out. I wasn't a big fan of the original star trek, it might have something to do with the cheap special effects. But then again, back then there wasn't much of an option. The movies were better, but then again, movies do tend to have better special effects than tv shows. Although throwing cortana into the mix is interesting. I never really played the games, but I do know of the character.

If this is the Enterprise from the 2009 film, it is MUCH bigger than the original.

Originally, it was supposed to be 366 meters, but got scaled up to as much as 725 meters.

Review of chapter "Chapter One - Where quite a few have gone before" from Darksnider
Review:
This isn't going to be one of those stories where the main character is stupid enough to park said ship in Orbit of earth.

Actually you gave him the memories of a star fleet officer so prime directive is applied. If anyone from earth attempts to claim that ship from him he's to self destruct it or risk earth being destroyed by said technology.

Talk about culture shock as well everyone on earth is gonna seem extremely primitive to someone from that time period.

Lots of things I'm liking about this so far. For one, it's a nice change to not have the entire Scoobie gang thrown into the action right away. I like the idea of Cortana and Xander doing some travel around the galaxy before they make it back to Earth- maybe they even take on a few crew members? Could be an interesting way to bring in some of the non-Earth characters like Vala or Jonas Quinn.

Interesting start on this story.

I wonder how the SG-1 gang is going to react when they find out what the ship that destroyed Moloc's ship looked like?

Jack will be wondering if the system lord was on drugs, lol.

Keep up the interesting work.

Review:
Good start; have to admit that I'm really hoping to see a Jenny Calendar back on Earth with the memories of Cortana up to the point of the energy wave, 'cause (1) it's never been done before, where there are two beings separate and distinct that I can recall; (2) it'd be interesting to see the actions of earth-based Janna, telling Ripper of what she remembers while Cortana Kalderash integrates into the Enterprise and the two make their way back home, neither realizing that a meeting of "sisters" is in the future; and (3) it's always better when you have multiple Jannas...

I really wants a Janna/Alexander Kirk hook up in the future; Giles never really was all that interested in her, IMNSHO, as she was the one doing most, if not all, the chasing on the show, plus watching the girls go nuts at their No Longer Xander Shaped Friend flirting with their Computer teacher as they look on...

Priceless!

Finally, it is the Enterprise. Happy to read this and hope you keep it going. Eager to see SG1's reaction to this.

Interesting.

I was thinking of doing a response to the challenge with Kirk myself. I like what you've done here especially adding Cortana to the mix. I wonder if the Enterprise's computer will be able to prevent her going rampent it should be interesting.

Though are you going to meet SG-1? I can so see Jack's reaction to the Enterprise and Cortana being real, not to mention that the ship has those 'big honkin space guns' he loves so much and they've been shown already to be fully capable of destroying a Goa'uld mothership.

Nice twist putting Cortana in there with Kirk and how you got her to stick around. It makes it actually possible to fight the ship without having to train hundreds of new crew members first. I hope they can find their way home without too much trouble.

A very nice crossover. Cortana/Jenny teamed up with Xander/Kirk in the original Enterprise...I pity the Goa'uld, and Ascended. Thank you for letting us read your work, and I can't wait to read more of it.

Sincerely

John
