Interesting.
I was thinking of doing a response to the challenge with Kirk myself. I like what you've done here especially adding Cortana to the mix. I wonder if the Enterprise's computer will be able to prevent her going rampent it should be interesting.
Though are you going to meet SG-1? I can so see Jack's reaction to the Enterprise and Cortana being real, not to mention that the ship has those 'big honkin space guns' he loves so much and they've been shown already to be fully capable of destroying a Goa'uld mothership.

Nice twist putting Cortana in there with Kirk and how you got her to stick around. It makes it actually possible to fight the ship without having to train hundreds of new crew members first. I hope they can find their way home without too much trouble.

An emblematic Trek captain vs the Goa'uld always has potential, especially with Halo tech thrown in, but please, change that 'nu' in the summary to 'new' as I believe is the idea, it alone can irritate readers.
