Review of chapter "Chapter 8" from silentia
Review:
Marvelous ! It is so hard to find good LotR crossovers !

At first I thought you would have Buffy landing in Lothlorien, but Greenwood is better. And I sincerely loved your Meneldil.

This last chapter ends on such a cliffhanger that I will really be impatient to read the next one. If Buffy is now a Balrog slayer, many things will change. First, will the Dwarves keep their realm of Khazad-Dum ? Then it would change both "The Hobbit" and "Lord of the Rings" ! Secondly, how will Glorfindel react to Buffy when they are both so similar and different ? They can now found a club of Reborn Balrog Slayers, but I doubt many people would want to join, considering the stipulations for said entry.

Thank you very much for sharing this story and may you never lack inspiration !
Comments from author:
Thanks so much! Dwarves are going to keep Khazad-dum, but I think I'm going to try and keep most of The Hobbit in place because I love Bilbo. Glorfindel's reaction in latter chapters. Thanks for reviewing.

OMG! No! You can't freaking end a chapter there!

Worst. Cliffhanger. Ever.

And by worst I mean best, because that is some serious cliffhanging.

Anyways, I love what you've done with this fic. And especially the whole prophecy song you put together. Really, really cool!

I can't wait to see what happens next! Please update again soon! :)

Comments from author:
Well, it isn't my fault, one of you reviewed a while back and told me to keep you lot guessing, but I'm no good at that, so cliffhangers it is. Thanks for the enthusiasm and reviewing! I'm glad you like it.

This is such a beautiful story. I love that you're taking the time to go through the beginning of the third age and create her story. She is being given roots and a reason to fight and I adore that. Thanks for sharing it and I eagerly await more.

Wow that is going to change a LOT, unless there is another balrog hiding down there. Moria isn't going to become the dark pit of death I guess? Or will something else do it when Buffy is gone? Looking forward to more this is a good story and I am enjoying it a lot.
Comments from author:
I don't think Moria is going to become a dark pit of death in this story, haha, it's probably going to have more problems but not from balrogs. Thanks for reviewing!

Review:
The legends from this battle will be long in the telling! Wonder if Buffy will become a Dwarven female warrior in the dwarvish version. Excellent tale.
Comments from author:
I don't know, I think she's gona be too famous to be remembered as a dwarf, but I see what you mean, they sort of claim things as theirs all the time, so maybe, especially with her name. She'll be around for a while, so all the stories are gona get mixed up anyway. Thanks for the review!

Review:
Awesome! Just awe-inspiring! Maximum points for having the cahones to actually CHANGE history! Let the dominos fall! Moria may actually endure! And if Buffy is making such a massive impact on the forces of Darkness and rogue trolls and orcs, perhaps the Rangers of the North will actually be the Vanguard of a diminished but still standing Arnor that marches under the banner of it's Chieftan to culiminate in a great final battle against Sauron!? Maybe Buffy will actually forge an even greater Alliance than the Last Alliance, between Elves, Men and Dwarves? I look forward to reading more! So often it seems people do crossovers and yet don't have the guts to actually have the crossover affect the course of history. You rock!
Comments from author:
I totally agree! Throw Buffy in the mix and big stuff is bound to happen, and its sort of the point of crossover fanfic, right? Gandalf will still be awesome and he'll change, but he doesn't need a balrog to do it. Good ideas, thanks!

Review:
Nice!! Loved the battle with the balrog, and the bits about how she had to get a handle on her new power level was nice too.

So, since Glorfindel also slayed a balrog, and in doing so was slain himself, only to return to Arnor in the second age, does that mean the he will be the "Golden Elf to lover her best?" Actually, unless you're going to pull a complete fake-out on us, that only makes sense, since the name also means "golden tressed," if I recall my Tolkien trivia correctly.

I look forward to the next chapter.
Comments from author:
Thanks for reviewing, and I suppose I can't tell you what's going to happen because I don't know everything yet. I have stuff planned and then it changes. You're right about the name though, and thanks again.

Looks like Glorfindel won't be the only Balrog Slayer on Middle Earth now!

So epic how you wrote Buffy's battle with the Balrog. I loved it!
Comments from author:
Nope, not the only Balrog Slayer in Middle Earth, and thanks for the review. I was sorta nervous about the action scenes, so its nice to know they didn't tank.

It's nice that you want to return the favor. And Diane's are some of the best on here. Another author I'd recommend is MMcGregor. Everything he wrote was awesome. And if you like LotR, you will probably love curiouslywombat's Return of the Key series.

Now the question for your story is without the Balrog of Khazad dum, how will Gandalf become all that he can be?
Comments from author:
Yep, that CuriouslyWombat is good, and thanks for the other recs and for reviewing, it helps. I'll get to reviewing and recommending your stories as soon as I get the internet.

Review:
This is good. I'm really enjoying the level of detail, and how you're using the known 'history' to your advantage, like the balrog down in the mines.

Oh, and thanks for giving my stories a plug! Feel free to drop in a review if you find anything I mess up.

And from one author to another, you might want to look for a good proofreader who has plenty of Tolkien experience, just to deal with tiny details like 'horde' vs. 'hoard' and the spelling for JRR's languages.
Comments from author:
Thanks and your welcome. I need someone to read these chapters, but my friends aren't quite as nerdy as I am, and nobody would know or be willing to look this kind of thing up for me, so I'm kinda on my own, but I'll spend more time editing. Thanks again for the advice and etc.

Review of chapter "Chapter 8" from AllenPitt
Review:
So, unless there are TWO Balrogs under the mountain, the Fellowship's story will be slightly different.Does this mean Gandalf is stuck being "the Grey" ? . Nice, usually writers don't like to change things.
If this doesn't get her a mithril coat, then Thrandruil is right about the dwarves. Just sayin'...... Meanwhile (ok not for a long while yet) maybe Buffy will pass through a peaceful fishing village and buy some fish from those nice fisherfolk, Deagol & Smeagol...... It'd be funny if she met him. Ok, a little unlikely. She bought out all their fish! So they had to go fishing in the river the next day. It's all her fault.
Gee, does she now get "Balrog Slayer" as an extra name? Kinda like...was it Glorfindel who also had that? .... That Scythe is mighty handy.
Any chance she'll run into Olaf? He is a troll now, maybe this is where he spends his time...
Comments from author:
Gandalf will go through the necessary changes, i love the old wizard, but he can't hog all the cool stuff. Mithril coat, check. I don't know about the Deagol Smeagol, but it's a funny idea, YOU should write that, now maybe, Olaf too. Thanks so much for all your reviews and good ideas!

Wow, I didnt expect that. Killing the Balrog is gonna change quite a few things, like Khazad dum not becoming Moria(The Black Pit) the orcs wont move in now because there are still plenty of Dwarves to defend their homes. Cant wait to read more, hopefully soon.
