Review of chapter "Chapter Twelve - Finding Hope" from msand
Review:
I have always thought of the wizards in JKRowlings book much like the land owners in the southern US before the Civil War. "We must take care of the poor muggles (blacks) because they cann't take care of themselves".
We are more than what we appear to be. What have wizards done for mankind?
I like your story. I've got it bookmark so that I can check for up dates everyday. Sorry, no pressure intended.
Thanks.
Comments from author:
Thanks.

That's a very good question. What exactly have the wizards done for the world?

another great chapter.you write Dawn as she should have been during season 7 and your OC characters are some of the best I've read in fanfiction.looking forward to the next chapter
Comments from author:
Thanks. I've alway felt the writers on Buffy had no idea what to do with Dawn beyond the plot device of being the "key." Note that virtually all the episodes that focused on Dawn, focused on how she did not fit in with other Scoobies and how she had no real role to play. I think that shows the writers weakness in dealing with character. One of the many wasted opportunities of the last two seasons.

Review:
Wonderful, wonderful story. I am just amazed at how logically you have merged the Buffyverse and the Wizarding World. All your Scooby characters are so true to the series and your original characters are both interesting and realistic. I can't wait for more.

Poor Lady Aydin. LOL. Can't wait to see the next chapter.

As for outlines... you should see the big nasty brain-melting emails that go back and forth between Lucinda and I regarding Ultimate Venom. :)

Review:
This story is very good! I really like Lady Aydin and am glad that she's starting to see the New Council for what it is: people who care very much about hte world and who are willing ot do something about it. Robert's reply about hte Scoobies not knowing the meaning of impossible was very nice. I liked that a lot, especially given how true it is. Young adults who grew up thinking outside the box - the world never knew what hit it. Keep up the good work.

Comments from author:
Thanks. It's one thing for Lady Aydin to understand intellectually that there are now hundreds of Slayers running around and that the new Council plays by a different set of rules. It's another to get sucker punched with the magnitude of just how different the world is post Sunnydale.

Review:
A very enjoyable story. The way you center it around a non-wizarding group that takes an active interest in making sure all of the different magical groups keep their houses in order seems fairly unique. And that Covenant idea... dang... clever. And that it all works and keeps me reading. You've done a good job.

A small comment however ->

> As much I enjoy the other HP/BtVS crossovers I always find it a little odd that all
> the characters get together and share all their secrets in one chapter.

Not everyone does that in their fics :-) (though not everyone has such an elegant idea as your Covenant). That seems to happen a lot more on fanfiction.net than TtH. Verbal identity diarrhoea is popular in some quarters as a quick story jump start. But not everyone does it.
Comments from author:
Thanks for the comment.

And you're right. Not every HP/BtVS crossover does the verbal diarrhoea. I just happened to have read through a couple that did and it was still fresh in my mind.

To trade compliments. Your Red Raider series of stories are very enjoyable. One the best blendings of the two worlds (along with a couple of others) I've seen. You do a great job of making the universes consistent while at the same time remaining true to the source material. Something I'm learning the longer I work on this story is very difficult to pull off.

Review:
Hmm, this chapter gave me lots to think about. Firstly, is it possible that MI-5's mole is Percy Weasley?!? That thought gave me a heck of a shock. And now they are going to go after Sirius not knowing that he's actually innocent. Strange though, I would have thought that with the drawings of the ritual they might have identified the Death Eater who gave up his hand as Peter Pettigrew. Oh wait, the white mask bit hid all the identities. That's why they wouldn't know to target Lucius Malfoy either. Hmm, I am really enjoying this and look forward to the next update. Keep up the great work!
Comments from author:
I did give a another hint as to the identity of one of the Moles in "The Calls".

I had intended to include a bit about the limitations of Lovat's sketches in "The Shifting Currents" chapters, but it didn't flow well so I dropped it. His pictures tend to focus around one or two things. The exagerated scar on Harry's forehead, the enlarged picture of Voldemort's face (as he was the focus of the ritual). Other details, like facial details, can get blurred out. If you've read the Adept books this is a lot clearer. My apologies for not making that bit clear here. I'll insert that info into another chapter.

Nice to know people are thinking.

I always feel my head spinning trying to keep track of who knows what in these fics. I forgot too that not all the good guys knew about Black, either. Can't wait to read the next chapter. :)

You think your heads spinning. You should the outline I've constructed for this thing.

That's an interesting way to put it - Let's save these people from themselves.

I can't help but think it will be difficult to convince some of them coughMinistrycough that they're in need of saving.

Great story, thanks for writing! ~"~

Review:
This chapter was hardly too much of an info dump. It had the right pace of informative and moving the plot. I'm absolutely fascinated by the worlds you've woven together, and they way they've been woven. Just delightfully refreshing, creative and compelling. I'm eagerly anticipating what comes next.

Comments from author:
Thanks for the comment. As I said this chapter was the most difficult to write so far. Trying to find a balance between exposion, plot and rhythm was tough. I brought Xander in specifically to spice up the dialogue a bit and provide a break from the exposition.

Nice to know I succeeded with at least some people.

> “Not burst any bubbles or crush anybody’s ego, but the Slayers are not the end-all-be-all of the supernatural universe.

Oh, that's just perfect! It's the perfect answer to those s who think that the Slayer is the ONLY thing keeping the forces of darkness in check. I just love your interpretation of the Buffyverse and Potterverse.

BTW, are you going to follow the events of Order of the Pheonix, or are you going to split off into your own alternate universe? Given the slow approach the "Muggles" seem to be taking, it could go either way.
Comments from author:
Thanks. I also think its appropriate for Dawn to deliver that line.

As far as the Potterverse goes. The events in Order of the Phoenix will occur as they do in the book up until about the halfway point (before the Christmas break). I'm still working on the exact point at which the Potterverse will go "alternate universe." Belief me it will be pretty obvious when it occurs.

Review:
No, it was great. From the looks of things newer Slayers are going to play a bigger part in this rather than Buffy or Faith, it that right. The Slayer dream was very good. And maybe since they know a certain amount of the details then Lady Aydin could fill them in somewhat. Wizards instead of wandweilders and stuff like that.
