It took me a while for my curiosity to warm up to the idea/synopsis of this story, but I'm glad it did. Very interesting plotting. I wasn't expecting the outcomes that you have so far. Thanks for sharing.
Comments from author:
Thanks for giving it a try. I'm terrible at writing a great synopsis when it comes to my stories. I hope you keep on enjoying and that there will be more surprises when it comes to outcomes for you. Jes

because of miller, janet doesn't die, right? i never saw that part but it sounds like what you are trying to set up. interesting!
Comments from author:
Right! That will be discussed in the next chapter. I'll try to discuss maybe a bit of what happened so that even though you missed the episode, you won't be totally lost. Jes

Review:
Excellent chapter! I'm really enjoying your in-depth plot and detailed character development. Looking forward to Tara and Graham finding out more about the sunnydale crew and Fred arrival in universe A, i'm sure Daniel will have an interesting reaction. Keep up the great work, and please update as soon as possible! This story is great!
Comments from author:
Thanks!!! Sorry it took me so long to answer this. My head has been in the clouds for the last few weeks. I haven't gone into the Univ. A Sunnydale crew much, as I've been trying to get a better hand on the alternates. However, they will have their time before the end of this fic. As for Daniel and Fred, that part is still in the works. Look for her not to actually arrive until part four. However, I will promise at least one little, itsy bitsy moment for you pretty soon. Since this part won't be long, look for me to post in the next week or two. It's getting close to being sent in for editing! Jes

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from Stacia
Review:
Hi Jes,

I'm leaving you a note here in the hopes that you have your reviews automatically forwarded. I just wanted to let you know that I am having some very irksome computer issues. I think it's some malicious adware, but my security program isn't fixing it. My main problem is that I can't get to the yahoo login page, hence, I can't check my email. So, if you've sent me anything in the last day or so, I haven't seen it. I'm hoping to get the problem sorted out soon. I'll let you know as soon as I have email again.

I just didn't want to leave you hanging, in case you had sent something my way (although, if you had, you'd be Ms.-speed-demon-writer *grin*)

Review:
Usually multiple pairing stories make my teeth ache, most of them are just so contrived. But being the incorrigible xover slut that I am I check the category regularly nonetheless.

Your story is an absolute gem.

It's plot driven, believable, emotional and above all riveting. I must admit I don't find much of the Tara or Faith or Fred from the show in it but never mind, it's a great read. And except for Faith all of your characters come from a parallel universe anyhow, so no harm done.

You are right when you say that Tara and Graham aren't usually the focus of stories and I must admit I didn't particularly mind that ,o) but you managed to totally draw me in and I can't wait to read more of this.

Thank you for sharing this.
Comments from author:
Thanks for such a nice review. I will admit that multiple pairings can log people down or even make their teeth ache, but I am a romantic at heart. I just can help it. However, I'm going to try not to log this down too much with the romance. The second part will get in it more than the first, but it will be looking more at the characters than introducing the plot as the first was.

As for the characters not being quite on par, that was what I wanted for the alternates. Fred and Tara are both going to be much more confident. Tara didn't grow up with her father treating her like trash and Fred never went to Pylea. As for Faith, who isn't an alternate, we'll see. Hopefully you'll be able to see more of the shows Faith as the story goes on. Just remember that she has gone through changes on the show and also has had time between Buffy's finale and this story. She will be different.

Thanks once again and I hope you enjoy the second part - which will be posted shortly. It is being edited at the moment. Hopefully Tara and Graham won't bog it down to much in this next part either. ;o)

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from (Recent Donor)jedibuttercup
Review:
Hm. Was Universe B's Daniel perhaps offered the same chance to Ascend after the Goa'uld forces killed him as the one from Universe A had been? Since Jonas and he appeared to coexist there, I assume he didn't die of radiation poisoning there ...? I'm probably wrong, but that's the first thing I thought of to account for the mysteriously moved items and typed note! I hate to think of *any* Daniel being permanently dead!

Anyway, aside from that question: I loved this chapter, and am looking forward to seeing how you continue this story. The AU-by-way-of-mirror was appropriate for a Stargate-based fic, and it was definitely different to see the two canons drawn together because of AU doubles of dead friends, rather than tripping over each other on some mission in their own world.

I'll be interested to see where you take the plot lines on this one -- and the difficult emotional issues involved with running into a near-identical copy of someone you loved very much -- and the alternate backgrounds you've given the Universe B characters. I sense much potential in this story. =)
Comments from author:
I will try to give you some light on the Daniel issue, even though I plan on answering some of these points in the next part. No, Daniel did not die of radiation poison and ascend in this universe. When it comes down to it, Sha're died in the first episode. There was no child between her and Apophis that Daniel searched for, which means he didn't meet the Oma on Keb. Universe B hasn't even dealt with ascension. That doesn't mean Daniel has ascended though. I probably won't fully answer that question until close to the end, but there will be several instances pointing towards some kind of answer.

As for dealing with the emotional issues, it is going to be hard. Tara and Willow will have several issues to work out. There will be confusion for the couples, and some of them will move on a lot quicker than others.

I'm glad you're enjoying this fic. Thanks for the support and feedback. It keeps me writing. ~ Jes

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from Stacia
Review:
I really enjoyed this fic. I loved the way you meshed the two realities - which characters you included, and how you had them relate to each other. Oh, and I'm a W/T shipper all the way.

I saw that a previous review mentioned a few grammar issues. I noticed a couple mix-ups, but it certainly wasn't enough to detract from the story. If you're looking for a beta, I'd be happy to volunteer (Then I'd get to read updates first!). Of course, you don't know me from Adam, so . . . If you want to take a peek at some of my fic, it might give you some idea if our writing styles are compatible. Also, I used to be a TA in college, so I've got a little experience being the grammar police.

In any case, I'm really looking forward to the next chapter.

Comments from author:
Thanks Stacia. It's nice knowing that people are enjoying the characters I've chosen, as Tara and Graham are not exactly 'main stream' Buffy characters. Maybe that is why I love them so when it comes to fics. As I said to the other review, sorry for the grammatical errors. I'll definitely think about your offer, as I very much need a beta reader. Writing and then proofing on top of that can get time consuming, especially since I'm horrible at proofing my own stuff. I think when you know exactly what is going on while proofing, you're more likely to skip over mistakes. I am checking out one of your stories and will get in touch! ~ Jes

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from BrendanM
Review:
Nice Story! It's an underused premise (at least in BtVS crossovers), and you've got a good thing going here.

On the technical end of things, you may want to run your next chapter by a beta reader. I noticed several homonym/homophone errors that could have been avoided. (personal/personnel, Your/You're, et cetera)

I hope to give the next chapter a perusal soon.
Comments from author:
Thanks! I was actually scared that the premise would have been overused. But, I love alternate reality stories, so I plunged in. As for the beta reader suggestion, I've only used one once before. It got to a point that I gave up getting anything back from her and did it all myself. If you have any suggestions on someone that is reliable and quick, let me know and I'll look into it. As for my mistakes, to ere is human. I am the worst speller on the world and I will admit that homophones are also a pain in my side. I write so fast sometimes that I don't catch myself making obvious mistakes. Thanks for the feedback! I'll try to post the next part as soon as possible, but as I still have to write it...

Review:
This is a wonderful story with a nice plot and lovely characterization. I like alternate universe stories and this looks like well thought out one. And you got Willow and Tara back together. Cudos to you. Lol!
Comments from author:
Thank you! Have I come into contact with another alternate universe fic junkie? I love alternate universes. One of my first fics about six years ago was an alternate universe fic, and I loved writing it. As for Willow and Tara, I really do love them together. The last fic I finished didn't have them together and I think I ticked a few people off. Against what they may think of me, I really do prefer the Willow and Tara pairing. I think it may have something to do with the fact Willow was my favorite Scooby and out of people they added to the gang, I felt that I understood Tara the most. It was the whole 'shy' thing. Well, once again, thanks! I can't wait to hear what you think about the next chapter -- that is when I finish it! ~ Jes

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from tals
Review:
What a lovely story!! Your characterisations are absolutely wonderful, you manage to ortray your characters and their relationships with eachother very realistically. It is wonderful to see a story which has such a large number of characters, yet manages to keep them separate and true. I like how you are showing that some people are different in different dimensions and how their past have changed their relationships and personalities.
You take your time building up the scenes, letting us feel with the characters, and reading this I definitely get the feeling of a well planned, well structured and extremely interesting story.

Comments from author:
Thank you ever so much for the feedback, Tals. I love these characters, so it is great knowing that you think I am portaying them well. I feel more at home with the Buffy gang, as I've been writing them for at least six or more years. I'm still working on the Stargate characters. As for the alternate universe characters, I just love tweaking here and there. The second part will concentrate more on them, so you will be able to find out even more of the differences (even though some will also remain quite the same). Once again, I'm glad that you enjoyed part one and hopefully I will be able to keep your attention during part two! ~ Jes
