Great to see that you finally gave some closure to a story I've come back to and re-read time and again, even in the dark days with few updates (well, this and "I Am What I Am", and bless you for that one, even if it's not posted on TtH). :) I was a little sorry to see the story end on what seemed a slightly abrupt note, but having re-read it, it does seem strangely fitting, and it still a good ending to a great story. Thanks for the tale.
That was a great ending to one of my favorite series in fanfiction. I love the character development throughout the series, and Cordelia's growth in particular. The late night talks between Xander and Cordy and the heart-felt reconciliation between Buffy and Joyce were my favorite portions of dialog. You had me cheering during Buffy and Xander's brawl with the Angelus, Spike and Drusilla. The epilogue was touching. I can actually see Xander and Buffy getting through to Faith and helping her heal to a greater degree than she ever achieved in the series. Of course I can also see Faith attempting to put the moves on Xander do to her issues with relationships. I'd honestly love to see this series continued, but if this is the end it's a fitting one. Thanks for the series, it took my emotions on a roller-coaster ride.

Hi, I've just started reading this story, but I found the challenge you mentioned posted here on TtH, challenge 913. You might want to take a look at it, and consider marking this story as a response to it.
I think I review this over at INAP before they erased all your reviews, so... Good story, great characterizations. I particularly enjoyed your take on Joyce because (when we see her in fanfic at all) she's either a sex object or blends into the background. My favorite character in this piece was Cordelia. She was lovingly portrayed, although I felt she came around to the Xander fan club a bit too quickly. I realize that happened in canon, too, less than a month after Halloween, so I can't complain too much. The epilogue seemed to shift gears a bit too quickly from the flow of the story, but I appreciate the fact that you were closing it out after a long break. I'm looking forward to reading more of your other WIPs.
Excellent ending to a great story... Xander as a Slayer Defender? Yep, that's what his role has always been, in many ways, and now he has the capabilities and powers to go with his heart and will and soul.
A sequel would be wonderful, if your Muse ever strikes you that way... but I know that is one thing that *cannot* be forced.
Thanks for a great read!
