Review of chapter "If this is Rome..." from LurkerOOl
Review:
Excellent story. I especially like the comfortable yet slightly itchy relationship between Faith and Buffy. As another reviewer said, you have captured the "voices" of the characters perfectly. I also like your James Bond, it seemed believable that he could just dimly remember Joyce. Some of the relationships I had 27 years ago are pretty dim for me, too...grin.

Definitely an interesting start. Caught my interest. When’s the next up?
Comments from author:
I'm working on it now. I'm a slow writer (as anyone waiting for updates of my other fics can attest...). Soon...

Review of chapter "If this is Rome..." from Norwegianne
Review:
I adore this. I'm not well versed in Bond, except that I've got a vague knowledge of who they all are, but that doesn't seem to matter.

I especially like the subtext so far. Subtext often proves more entertaining than straight out stories. It also felt good that neither Buffy nor James Bond began acting like daughter-father right away.

Your explanation of Rome as an anti-Hellmouth works for me, and I can't believe I've never thought of it before. :)

It's well written. It is entertaining. It's entertaining. What more could I ask for from a story, except that it is continued?

I always love your work, and this is no exception. Lovely characterisation, excellent world-building and appropriate reactions by all concerned. And you just had to sneak in that ...Bond will return in... bit, didn't you? *grins*
Comments from author:
It's traditional :)

(Thanks for the comments... encouraging words don't make me write any faster but they certainly make me happier WHILE writing :-).)

I've got a feeling that that forgotten envelope from chapter 3 is going to be important.

Review of chapter "Roman Holiday" from onlimain
Review:
I enjoyed reading this chapter a lot. It was great getting Bond's POV because I was wondering what he was thinking. I like how they are each filing away tidbits of conversation to ask when they are more comfortable around each other. (Or for a better time to further investigate on his/her own.) I also like your portrayal of Buffy and Faith's relationship. They need to work out their issues. One minute, Buffy's planning on sending Faith away the minute she gets to Rome, the next, she's asking her to stay as long as possible. I do get the feeling that they care about each other, though. I can't wait to see Buffy restraining Faith from going after Bond (and keep Bond from giving in)- unless Faith actually behaves herself.

Thanks :-). I hope to continue giving the varied points of view of the primary characters.

I just read your topic in the forum and was just about to recommend this fic when i realized you were the same person. (THAT could have been embarrassing!) Also, I would just like to say that you *definitely* did this idea justice. I'm looking forward to your next update.

Review of chapter "Father, Dear Father" from Tassos
Review:
Very cool start. You have Buffy and Giles pretty well nailed, and I especially liked Buffy's complaints about leaving Dawn with Faith. As for her and Daddy Bond, I predict much arguing.

But, could you make it B/A? I know Angel's dead but wouldn't it be cool if Buffy had a ghostly vampiric vampire boyfriend with a soul that could try to beat up Bond from the ethereal plane?
Just kidding! Kidding!

Seriously, I like this a lot. Not much more to say at them moment except that I am greatly looking forward to the next chapter. This should be interesting.

Fascinating idea. It almost makes me want to dig up the old Ian Fleming stuff. Almost. Interesting idea to keep Bond blameless, mostly, and, hey always nice to see Buffy-centric fic in the Buffy fandom. Distressingly uncommon, but nice.

Review:
Very fun start to the fic, and well thought out world building. I can certainly see MI6 acting in that way, and Buffy's reaction sfelt just right. One question - if Dawn is a copy of Buffy, down to the blood level, does that mean that she got duplicated as Bond's daughter as well? Could be very interesting if that ever came out, particularly if Bond was nowhere around Joyce at the time Dawn was supposedly conceived.

Thanks for the comments.

I won't be ignoring the Dawn issue. There are a number of things that could be discussed...

Review of chapter "Father, Dear Father" from MBB
Review:
Interesting story.
It had a funny start. And good portrayal of Buffy's character by having her worrying about her two adopted 'sisters' being unable to stay out of trouble without her presense.

Speaking of, I'm looking forward to see how will it influence her relation with Dawn when Dawn finds out she's not only 'buffy-cloned fake memory', but also Buffy's halfsister.
+ Won't Giles be jealouse of Buffy getting another fatherfigure?
Comments from author:
Well, poor Faith and Dawn will probably spend a lot of the time they get in this fic as 'comic relief'.

As for Dawn's reaction... I'm still working that out. There's a HP crossover where poor Dawn finds out she's really Buffy's cousin and not her sister and behaves like an angry brat and tries to sabotage Buffy's relationship with Harry. Nothing like that is going to happen here.

Giles? He's more of the mentor type. He had problems with Maggie Walsh when she seemed to be influencing Buffy. But I think Buffy is old enough to not be influenced by Bond at this point. Besides, Giles' screwed up the whole thing when he left in Season 6 and again in Season 7 with the Spike issue and over who was really in charge.

Review of chapter "Father, Dear Father" from Phidan
Review:
This is a great start. I appreciate the way you used this prologue to explain the history and connections between the organizations, and your scenes with Buffy and Giles are masterful, showing something of their current relationship without falling into synopsis. Too many fanfics rely on lengthy Author's Notes to set the stage -- I hope some of those authors will read this and learn! By the end of your prologue the important facts were presented, and it was never boring. The story premise is intriguing, and you definitely left me eager to read more. I'll be impatiently watching for chapter one; I hope we'll be seeing it soon!
