Essex Biomedical Foundation? A Sinister plot is afoot! And it's always nice to see Hacker!Willow in a fic - she seemed to fit in so well with Jean and the others. Good job.
Comments from author:
I'm tickled that you made the connection. You (like myself) must have far more comic-book trivia in your mind than most 'normal' people think anybody would ever need.... Not that that's a bad thing.

Nice.

I liked the morality discussion with Logan. The shock when Xander realized that the police would actually care and that he could be sent to prison was nicely done. Something you don't usually see in this type of discussion.

I liked how you showed the deepening relationship between Xander and Jubilee with her looking to him for comfort in the med lab.

Can't wait to see what you have planned next.
Comments from author:
as for the morality discussion - Scott raised a good point, but he isn't generally known for thinking about the in-between areas. And the police everywhere else aren't as oblivious as the guys in Sunnydale, and in New York, mutants who hurt humans tend to be viewed.... poorly. Even if it was self-defense. Life's just full of complications, isn't it?

Thanks for the comment about Xander and Jubilee - relationships are more than pretty words that you say to each other, it shows in what you do and how it's done. I'm hoping to show that in their actions and reactions as well as their conversations.

Oh my, not a bullet... Very interesting twist. Liked Logan's talk with Xander, how someone else there made sense- the premptive action saving worry down the road. Poor Jubilee, that's got to be harsh... and poor Xander, not being able to control the flames. Look forward to the next installment.

Fantastic first kiss. Willow's bit about if she makes it to college broke my heart, and is so true for the Willow you've written. Nicely done and I'm looking forward to more.

Oh, this definitely had promise. I like Xander's mutation, and the fact that he doesn't quite have a handle on it yet. Great dynamic between him and the younger Xmen, as well as Faith's introduction. She and Pyro would make a rather... explosive pair. All in all, a fun fic with more to be had. Nicely done so far, and I'm looking forward to more.

Comments from author:
I try to keep a bit of realism in most of my stories. Even if there's magic, mutation and demons, I want it to feel like 'yeah, that IS how they'd react to that, it does make sense for it to work out like that'.

And really, if you suddenly had the ability to produce green fire, it SHOULD take a while to get the hang of it. And if you're also having to run away across the whole country, figure out food, shelter, and occasional demon fighting... It would probably take longer.
