Nice! I have to admit I haven't read any of the JP crossovers out there, but this being by you I decided to click on the link this time. Am very glad I did, even if I had to struggle through my memory about who the JP characters are -- it's been a good long while since I last watched any of the JP films and I think I've only seen JPIII once. You'll make me go back and watch them again you will! I did like it, and thought the Dawn bit was a nice touch, too.

Thanks to IMDb I found out who Dr. Alan is... the whole Jurassic thing somehow slipped by me, but now I guess I'll get them at the library. Sam Neil, hmmm. Yup, that works.
As always, perfectly written spotlights that leave an overall good feeling and a strange hankering for more...

Aggg...Erg...RATS! This is the last one (unless you do the final element of Spirit). :-( I really loved how you had Buffy taking in Alan's joy at the beginning, then him noticing the world-weary look in her face at the end. A perfect way to close the circle, though I would certainly love to read more if you wrote it!
It's pretty interesting, but I have one complaint, and for me, it's a major one. You mentioned in your summary that it's an archaeological dig. If it's a 'Jurassic Park' crossover, it's NOT an archaeological dig. We (archaeologists) don't dig up dinosaurs. Dr. Alan Grant digs up dinosaurs. Therefore, he is a paleontologist, and it's a paleontological dig. Archaeologists deal with studying past humans and cultures through their biological and cultural remains. Archaeologists get the whole, "So you dig up dinosaurs, right?" question a lot, and it's the most annoying thing ever, and kind of insulting. So, fo accuracy's sake, you might want to change it to 'paleontological.'
Comments from author:
Not that Buffy would, y'know, have any idea that there's a difference. =)
But I take your point about the summary probably needing to be more accurate; *she* might call it an archaeological dig, but people glancing at a story summary will think of it from their point of view, not hers. Thanks for the input; I'll correct it.

This is adorable! I never would've thought of pairing Eric with Dawn, much less Buffy with Alan Grant (although, as played by Sam Neill, who could resist? Especially if he's re-discovered his bliss?), but this totally works for me! Please tell me there's more on the way, even after you get done with "Water"? This is too tantalizing, at 4 X 200 words.
