Review of chapter "parts 35 and 36" from Matron
Review:
I was so glad that you updated this story. But really, will it be easy for Fury to track down Kendra when she literally dropped out of a portal? I can almost imagine the conversation on the phone to find her, however I am inept on how well Fury's mind actually works.

I get the feeling that I should recognize the two men Kendra rescued from the vampires. Their names wouldn't by any chance be Frank Drake and Hannibal King?

Comments from author:
Nope - one of them is an Original Character, and the other is a much more obscure Marvel character, who did in Marvel Canon report to and (at times) take orders from Fury. Nick Fury, of the Howling Commandos.

As for involving Frank Drake and Hannibal King... mwahahahaha... I shall ponder the many possibilities and how that could go well, oddly, or very badly. : )

Review:
I just saw a picture for the upcoming "Thor" movie, so maybe the magic of Kendra’s arrival could’ve interfered with Odin’s punishment and caused Thor to be reborn as a mutant instead of a normal human being. Thor’s Asgardian essence would interfere with the natural expression of his new body’s X-gene to mimic his previous abilities of superhuman strength, endurance, and durability, as well as flight and weather manipulation without needing the hammer Mjolnir. He would technically qualify as a demi-god, half Asgardian and half human mutant; although reuniting with Mjolnir could let him transcend mortality once more.

There is a community of mutants known as the Morlocks living beneath New York City. If Caliban was turned into a vampire but retained his goodness, his ability to sense both mutants and supernatural creatures within a 25 mile radius would let ProfessorX redesign Cerebro to incorporate new detection parameters. Caliban's vampiric vulnerability to sunlight isn't a big deal since he lives underground to hide his deformed appearance.

[... and now I'm wondering if it would be plausible to have a story where instead of the super-strength that Rogue has as being stolen from Ms Marvel, it's actually because she got contaminated with the Slayer-essence (which wouldn't include flight or the near-total invulnerability). Would that spread to her and make her an additional Slayer (another Slayer line if/when she dies!), or could it only be absorbed totally?]

Well, Rogue was able to absorb the magical powers, and mystical knowledge of Na'ze (The former head-shaman of Forge's Cheyenne clan) when his body was possessed by the Adversary. However, the Slayer-essence is greater than one person, and could potentially empower all living Potentials simultaneously - so there is no reason the Slayer essence couldn't just empower both Kendra, and Rogue (and permanently transform Rogue into a Slayer.)

You should have Kendra carry a gladius - as it's a relative short sword that would be easy to hide in a long coat or a concealed thigh-scabbard; and its rel. short length ( approx. 1.5 ft.) would work well with the slayer's acrobatic combat style.

I'm wondering about Kendra's fate or ultimate purpose in the Marvel Universe.... She's an extra-dimensional immigrant, a champion of Order, and life, and is empowered by a force that will create its own lineage. I'm wondering if you're going to develop her into a kind of terrestrial counterpart to Captain Mar-vell - where he is the guardian of the universe, empowered by Eon; she could be a guardian of the Earth, and humanity, empowered by Gaea?

Anyway, I like your story, and I'm looking forward to the next chapter.
Comments from author:
Bit early for Rogue to make an appearance in this fic, though there's always room for another idea bubbling in the depths of my mind.

A gladius might be a very good choice for Kendra, though it is a bit unlikely that Charles had one laying about.

I assure you, Kendra is wondering part of the same thing.

and thank you : )

It just seems like those two men should be people I recognize. Are they? Or is that just my imagination?

This setting seems like it would be perfect for Kendra to meet Cloak and Dagger. I think they'd get along.

Awesome. Oh yeah, someone with superhuman strength is likely to need an extreme amount of training to do CPR, or a less forceful method... Easy enough to fracture ribs as it is.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cardiopulmonary_resuscitation

Ah, okay, according to the above there's 'Compression-only resuscitation/cardiocerebral resuscitation (CCR)' which avoids mouth-to-mouth aka skin to skin contact for those like Rogue and 'Rhythmic abdominal compressions' which bypasses both the rib fracture and mouth to mouth issues, *but* they likely weren't researched by the mainstream medical profession at the time this story's set. Not impossible to 'rediscover', but...

Good story. Have fun :)
Comments from author:
That's something they'll have to figure out if/when it is brought to their attention, possibly when they attempt to get CPR training for someone who has the enhanced strength.

It could be a suitable place to throw in a bit of confusion and 'oh, we didn't even consider needing to make adjustments to that...' Really, Rogue's limitation is the sort that you don't expect before you encounter someone with it.

... and now I'm wondering if it would be plausible to have a story where instead of the super-strength that Rogue has as being stolen from Ms Marvel, it's actually because she got contaminated with the Slayer-essence (which wouldn't include flight or the near-total invulnerability). As usual you have done a great job with the new chapters.

By the way, will they be meeting the Brood or the N'Garai?

Thank you.

Marvel has a good many magical types running about, it would be sad to not use any of them.

Review of chapter "part 30" from Avantre
Review:
I'd been wondering if you'd include any of the supernatural characters of Marvel in your story - happy to see that you have indeed done so. Strange would be pretty easy for Kendra to deal with as he's still human and works to a good cause, but it would be interesting to see how she'd react to some of the less human or less neutral (ie darker) supernatural heroes that were around in the early(ish) days of Marvel - ones like Ghost Rider or perhaps even better Daimon Hellstrom.
Comments from author:
Marvel has such a wide variety of characters - it would be a shame not to at least mention a few of the supernatural ones when using a BtVS crossover. I have been considering who else might make an appearance, and all I'll say is that I don't want to rush, and I want them to fit in the storyline.

Though Kendra bumping into a Marvel-supernatural danger or a Marvel supernatural hunter might be quite logical...

Review:
It's great that Kendra finally met Dr.Strange, he will be a very useful ally and resource in her fight against the demons.

I hope that you'll do cameo appearances of some of the other supernatural fighters who occasionally inhabit the New York area: Son of Satan, Satanna, Clea, Blade, and Brother Voodoo...

I notice that you have done very little with Magneto for several chapters - I had hoped that you would use Xavier's infatuation with Victoria as an excuse for Kendra to develop a deeper relationship/friendship with Eric.

Good chapter.

I like how you worked dr Strange in there. He can be her Willow for all things magic.
Comments from author:
While Willow's power may be comparable to Dr. Strange, he has a far more extensive education, especially when it comes to things magical.

Of course, Willow's much friendlier and more approachable.
