Review of chapter "Chapter 24: Epilogue" from tydepul
Review:
That was awesome. The dialogue was witty. The relationship that you developed had depth and feeling. The growth in maturity and emotional strength of the characters was also deep and natural. I really enjoyed reading!

Review of chapter "Chapter 24: Epilogue" from AtotheM
Review:
Wow!

That was fantastic (forgive my typing, my hand is numb from sitting in one place and reading this!). You got all of their characters spot on. The dialogue between Buffy and Jack is fantastic--I love Teal'c and Buffy catching onto his sense of humor. I think its great you had Xander be supportive guy instead of jealous guy.

You didn't rush things and you had a great plot that really weaved both storylines together so well.

I am deeply impressed.

(And also sad that its over. Write more with them! Please?)

So, so well done.

Review:
Great story! A lot of twists and turns, and 'what just happened?' moments, and you kept the characters so true to themselves while still allowing them room to grow. Thanks for sharing this!
Comments from author:
And thank you for the kind review! I'm delighted to hear that you enjoyed the fic - and more so that you found everyone to be within character. That's always my number one goal, and I'm delighted that you feel as though I succeeded in that.

Thanks again!

Review of chapter "Chapter 24: Epilogue" from MarcusSLazarus
Review:
Dramatically engaging start- particularly with the intriguing implications about how the Key being opened would have affected the Stargate network- that lead into a VERY dramatic story; nice job.

The part with the Slayer in Buffy managing to destroy the Goa’uld from the inside was definitely effective- interesting idea regarding the Slayer essence being able to ‘overwhelm’ the Goa’uld rather than allowing itself to be subverted at first-, while Buffy’s ‘descent’ during her captivity as her resistance was worn down came across very well, to say nothing of the slight amusement factor of Buffy retaining enough of her self to TRICK the Goa’uld who DID manage to take her as a host.

Add in such dramatic twists as Apophis’s method of ‘securing’ his escape from Ne’tu- as well as the slight amusement of such moments as Buffy’s reunion with the rest of SG-1 after she’s returned to Earth-, and you definitely had some EXCELLENT work here.

While a part of me remains slightly ambiguous about the Buffy/Jack pairing just based on the age gap- at least Angel and Spike didn’t LOOK their ages; Jack’s very obviously old enough to be Buffy’s father-, given the time they spent trapped together it makes sense that they’d bond, and there’s definitely potential for their feelings for each other to progress to this stage (Even if a part of me can’t help but wonder if the circumstances of their coming together will make the relationship more difficult over time).

Any chance of a sequel?

Personally, I have a feeling that the implications of Apophis being dead three years ‘ahead of schedule’ AND Skaara and Sha’re being freed would be very interesting to witness even WITHOUT Buffy and the Scoobies being involved...
Comments from author:
It's funny - your thoughts about the implications of Apophis dying three years ahead of schedule, not to mention the ramifications of freeing Skaara and returning Sha're to Daniel, seem to have echoed my own. When I originally drafted the plot for this story, it was actually quite a bit longer. It was only while I was in the midst of writing it that I realized that I would be redefining the world 'epic' if I followed the story until its intended end. Instead, I ended the story in what I found was a very good spot, and the notes of what was to come after continue to sit in a file on my computer. One day, I had intended on revisiting this world - not to do another lengthy story, but rather to revisit it in snippets - small drabbles that would demonstrate how the SG and BtVS worlds have changed as a result of this story.

Who knows? Maybe one day I'll start playing again in that universe.

In the meantime, I wanted to thank you for writing such a thoughtful, intensive review. I'm sure you know how rare they are, and I treasure them all the more for the time and thought that goes into them. This story wouldn't get out of my head, but I was determined that I wasn't going to regurgitate the common tie-ins for BtVS and SG-1. Yes, I blatantly used season 5's portal - but the thing really is too easy as a plot device for crossovers. I just hope that I was able to offer a unique enough spin to keep the story interesting.

So thank you, again, for the wonderful review. It's going into my 'keep' folder to nudge the muse when she's sitting down on the job.

Review:
Is there a 10+ on this rating scale...first, with the Awesomeness...wow, just wow. The characterizations are spot on, all the dialogue is A+ and pace...this story sets the bar for all SG1/BtVS crossovers.

Thank you for a stellar story, and sleepless night since I couldn't read it fast enough. But thank gods it was all complete, I can't imagine have to wait for each chapter like a nugget of nummy goodness every time you updated.

Kuddos.

Review of chapter "Chapter 24: Epilogue" from Wrytergrrrl
Review:
This story was long and intense and dense and so full of angst and horror and despair and I absolutely LOVED IT! Normally I'm all about the Buffy/Daniel pairings but the relationship you developed between Buffy and Jack was so powerful and beautiful that I couldn't imagine them existing without each other anymore. I think you wrote Buffy's character really well. Some fics have her too silly or overly melodramatic, but you had a really good mix of emotional and young and "hero with the weight of the world on her shoulders." In my opinion this is one of the very best stories on this site and I'm so glad I read it. Brava!

Review of chapter "Chapter 24: Epilogue" from Gideon
Review:
Well done, you have created a satisfying story that is complete in itself with consistent characterisation and a strong Buffy who kicks butt in the end without being perfect the whole time. I loved reading it!
Comments from author:
Thank you so much for the thoughtful review! When it comes to writing, my main goal has always been to stay in character, and what I love most about Buffy is that she is such a strong person, and yet she's saved from being a Mary Sue from the very fact that she's imperfect, as are we all. I'm so glad that you enjoyed reading it, as it was a true pleasure to write!

Thank you again!
