Once Jack remembered –realized- that no one was expecting him to act like a teenager, he let the persona drop. He relished being himself. He liked being in charge. He loved having people take him seriously. He liked having someone to care for. The man –or was he a teen?- was a born caretaker.
v good!
It was odd. If the two of them had met on Earth, assuming that they were both from the same Earth, Buffy and Jack would never had shared such secrets within two weeks of meeting. They probably would not have shared the secrets at all and would have let their pasts destroyed any budding relationship that might have occurred. Here, their working relationship had to work.
ditto
...shook their heads at the importance Master Buffy seemed to put on independent thought. Buffy knew that they didn’t understand the difference between good obedience and bad obedience. They would learn and hopefully there wouldn’t be blood to make the lessons stick. Buffy remembered the lessons she had learned about good disobedience and bad disobedience. She remembered the lessons that Willow and Xander had learned the hard way.
i like that too
Good job naming the toddlers in dribs and drabs instead of all at once
Giles had lost the argument at that point. He just hadn’t known it yet. He had finally agreed to Buffy’s idea. He had agreed so as to foster a better relationship with his estranged Slayer, he had done it because she was trying to be somewhat responsible with her budget, but most of all, Giles had agreed because it was the only argument that Buffy had involved herself in with her normal passion. After Buffy had disappeared, Giles had followed through with his side of the agreement because his Slayer might return someday.
That's the weirdest Manolo Blahnik story ever... :-) ... also, poignant Giles pov
Jack eyed the cowboy hat on the CD cover. Country? Boy, the clone had become different from him in a relatively short time. Jack shrugged and packed it all. Was it a peak into Jack’s soul or the clone’s? Was it both? Did Jack want to consider all these thought provoking questions? No.
lol - also deep

Great talk Buffy has with Jack, esp abt Willow & the temptations for the two oldest kids. Though I'm still not sure if Willow's wrong, I'm judging by the rules of my universe, not Buffy's magical one.
nice pov of qg at the end.

No, from Buffy’s fighting style and meditation control, she was a Master. Vayla finally accepted that though Buffy was not a Jedi, she was Master Warrior. The petite blonde rolled her eyes. “No, the stupid PTB’s invade my sleep to torture me with cryptic messages that don’t really help anyone and just causes me to loose rest.” Master Buffy’s opinion was very different from the Jedi’s.
good one
“I’m sticking my tongue out at you,” Buffy tossed over her shoulder. Vayla leaned back in Master Buffy’s arms to view the woman’s face. “But you aren’t,” she said confused. Vayla heard Colonel Jack laughing.
lol
“I do not understand, Master Buffy,” Sabè spoke for the first time since leaving the ship behind. “Your words are easier to comprehend when you speak as a . . . ‘tweed-encased Brit’. Is that not preferable?” Colonel Jack was now laughing so hard he had to rest his hands on his knees to regain breath.
oh i do like Vayla
In his mind’s eye, Jack saw Daniel scaling the walls, calling out observations and just being excited about the possibilities. Jack was cataloguing more of the temple than escape routes and defensible positions; he was seeing the cultural ramifications of such a building. That was all Daniel’s fault. The fact that the word ‘Mayan’ was whispering in his thoughts was Daniel’s fault too.
awww Danny would be so proud

“That’s your fault,” Jack shot back. “You being so immature is forcing me to be the mature one.” Buffy was unrepentant. “There’s a time for maturity. This isn’t it.”
lol
good excuse using Thor et al to give Jack 2.0 a few extra 'gifts'.

My kingdom for an update! Okay, my kingdom's not that impressive, but I still miss this fic! I know it's been over two years, but is there any chance this fic will be updated or even (hopefully) completed? *feeds plot bunny carrot cake*

I don't suppose begging and pleading can convince you to resurrect this story? Eh, it was worth a shot. The story is fast-paced and totally engaging, you handle all the characters very well. And I really really really want to know what else you have planned here!

Please don't abandon this story and series. They deserve to be continued. As I have written in my review to "Changing the Death Toll" you put Buffy, Stargate and Star Wars together and make it work. That hasn't changed in this story.
Please update as soon as you are able.
